My name is Mariana but you can call me Mari, I use she/her pronouns, I'm a femme lesbian, I'm from Brazil and speak English and Portuguese. I'm autistic too (diagnosed). My birthday is october 8th. NOT A MINOR.

In my blog I post silly stuff about my fandoms and sometimes I write full posts with complete essays about characters and that I take days to fully write but they often end up getting 3 likes in one month. It happens.

‼️I will occasionally reblog art or posts of sexual nature, like some caitvi fanart, so please be aware of that. I talk a lot about childish cartoons, but mentions of sex might come up in my blog and I don't want anyone to be jumpscared.

Fun Facts:

My favorite music artists are AURORA, Lana Del Rey, Remy Bond, Chappell Roan, Ashnikko, Lady Gaga, Marina, Babymetal, Paris Paloma, Nicole Dollanganger, L7 and others. I listen to indie, rock, heavy metal, pop, some fem rap, and recently I'm discovering more about fem punk and it's pretty good.

I am the one who posted the majority of Cedric The Sorcerer icons on Pinterest and I often see people using these icons in edits, as pfps, as references to drawings, and I find it very funny lmao. Yes I'm @marianagatademais on Pinterest.

I HATE calling people their wrong pronouns so you tell me what's yours or put it in your bio. If I call a character by the wrong pronoun it's because in portuguese (my language) there are only feminine and masculine pronouns and my mind gets a mess with "she her him his they them ela dela ele dele" so I'm sorry, call me out to fix it. In brazillian portuguese all objects have pronouns so they're not "it", they're "he" or "she". The sofa is a "he", the refrigerator is a "she". The word character is a "he", the word "person" is a "she". This happened with me when writing about Kris from Deltarune before, I called them a "he" but it wasn't on purpose! Just take into consideration that I don't do this with bad intentions.

I can't keep quiet when I feel like something is unfair and someone should speak up about that, but at the same time I am afraid of conflict so ?????? I guess being in Internet conflicts is easier to handle than real life ones, but I see many people being mean nowadays for having their face hidden behind a screen, and I hate that. Speak up about what you believe but don't be a jerk

I'm extremely empathetic, but I lose empathy with someone as soon as I notice that they don't have empathy with others. Once a bad person mocked me and said "you're cruel because you only have empathy for dogs, gays, minorities, but not me", and well... if you're extremely rude and mean, then of course I'm gonna lose empathy for you! If you're homophobic, stupid, causes me harm or harm others, I won't feel pity for you. I've been pitiful with too many people in my past who were mean and only stepped over my kindness, so now I believe that kindness should be shown until the moment someone stops showing it to you... or others you want to protect. I can lose my cool when I see people being mean and stupid. But generally, I will never stop being kind to others, just the rude person. Rude people fuck off.

A trait I have, a little toxic sometimes, is that I hold grudges pretty easily.

I have a Youtube channel where I post the art and stuff I make, mixed with fandom content. Even though I don't post much, I like to make videos recording my projects, they can be as small as a sketchbook page or as big as handmade figures, or toy restorations. You never know. I also make video essays and about fandom history or discussing about topics in these fandoms or tv shows. My channel is focused on fandoms and in my silly art, you might like it. It's in portuguese so if you're an english speaker (or a non-portuguese speaker regardless of the language) it might be better if you turned the subtitles on. I wish I could live off of this, but if it depended on my motivation I would starve to death lmao

Cute pink stuff and studying different aesthetics! Like seeing/making moodboards, decorated posts;

Discussing characters and details in a media I like, writing/reading posts about it and starting conversations about these analysis with other people from the same fandom;

When there's in-character content of my favorite characters (including character analysis, fanfiction, moodboards);

When there's a masc character I like and I express my love for this masc character through adding bows and pink stuff to his look (this means that they're cutie patooties) and when I see other people having fun doing that too, bonus points if they also do it with my favorite characters;

Collecting toys and little trinkets (I love my MH/EAH dolls and my Jessie and Buzz from Toy Story), I have a soft spot for collecting toys and collector content, but I don't have many toys;

Art. Having an idea and seeing it materialized out of my thoughts. Having a scene in my head and being able to share that scene with other people through a comic or a moodboard. Visualizing a craft idea and seeing it finished in my hands. I love creating stuff;

her “defense” is putting her arms up in front of her face like shes blocking a punch, as opposed to something more fantastical, like Kris’s shield or ralsei’s cape

seemed genuinely surprised over getting her own bedroom

frequently seen eating whatever she can get her hands on (the alley milk, chalk, Kris’s shampoo??, etc) ((yes this could just be a bit but it feels more important than that)) + constantly seems to be hungry

^ adding onto that, one of the main ways she shows care for people is by getting them to eat (letting Lancer have the darkcandy, making sure ralsei has a slice of cake, baking the pie with toriel)

^^ adding onto that AGAIN, Ralsei is very careful to make sure Susie always has enough to eat in the dark world (offering to bake for her, filling her fridge)

doesn’t claim any of the houses/apartments in town to be hers, and anxiously asks Kris “we’re going to your house, right?” in ch.4

becomes super protective/attached the moment any adult shows her the slightest bit of care and doesn’t treat her like shes “bad” (toriel, old man, etc)

lightworld outfit appears to be pretty tattered, jeans have holes in them

always wanting to go back to the dark world

doesn’t seem like she’s gotten a lot of positive feedback before from teachers/adults (mentions that the old man is the only one whose taught her in a way that didn’t make her feel stupid)

acts violent/mean as a defense mechanism when shes upset (Lancer fight, Ralsei confrontation)

*spoilers for ‘Rapunzel’s Return’* You know when I said I had other art to do that wasn’t 'Tangled’ related? Yeah, I lied. But gah! When Cap tells little Cassandra he’ll keep her safe, my heart just melts. How could I not paint these two? Young Cap is so dashing and proud, and little Cass is so sweet and brave.

One of the things I really admire about the series is how it handles the theme of family, including all different types of families, from those we’re born into, to the kind we make for ourselves, and how it explores all the good, bad, and ugly sides of those relationships. And boy, does it not shirk from the ugly side of things, but that just makes the good so much sweeter. 'Rapunzel’s Return’ hit me hard, and I had to restore the balance with some art of a tender moment between the Captain of the Guard and Cassandra. This takes place directly after Cass loses her mother, after they’ve made it back to the stables. Though Cass lost a parent and home that night, she gained another one. This is a dark painting, but there’s warmth and hope to be found; glimmering gold and silver to keep the shadows at bay. I like to imagine Cap was pretty smitten by this brave little solider right from the start. She’s not even afraid of his big charger.

The Captain of the Guard is easily my favorite character of the entire series. I love how he started out as this hard-headed antagonist in the film, but then turned out to have the most noble calling of all - protecting those who can’t protect themselves. No wonder Cass looks up to him.

𝜗ৎ 1st and 2nd panel out of 8 from a mini comic about my Arcane OC Lana Miller and Vi 𝜗ৎ:

Context: Lana and Vi grew up together and were childhood sweethearts (Lana is Ekko's adoptive sister). After Benzo and Vander died, and after Vi was taken to Stillwater with no explanation behind her disappearance, Ekko created the Fireflights and Lana fell into a deep depression that caused her to separate from her younger brother and start getting wasted in clubs. They drifted apart and Lana became a famous sex worker in Zaun for years. After Vi returned (in S1), she reunited with Lana again, but only after Vi was kicked out by Caitlyn that they were truly at rock bottom together and helped eachother to survive. Their depressing life of normalizing eachother's unhealthy tendencies was what drove them apart, their relationship became toxic and unstable, and by the end of S2 Vi was back with Caitlyn. You can read more about Lana's lore in her lore post and see more art in the tag I made for her.

I'm posting only the two first panels here because I'm not sure if I'll finish this comic XD I'm tired of it for now but I don't know, I can finish it if I lock in I think... besides, my clip studio paint free test is over, help.

The second version down here is one without shadows on their faces in case I wanna use it for something, and the last version is one with sketches of the 3rd and 4th panel (the full image then).

Really random but do people like the whole “Cassandra’s favorite thing is making maps” thing from Lost Lagoon and Vanishing Village?

Personally, I find that so odd. It’s clearly for plot reasons in LL so they can have an excuse to find the lagoon in the first place, but by VV it seems really tacked on compared to the actual series. Like Cass—the one who has never been outside her kingdom walls—is their sole navigator?

Such an old thing to bring up, I just am late to the discourse about these books😂 I’m not a fan of a lot of Cass stuff in them as a big Cass fan.

I have written 3 full paragraphs in english, but because I tried to download an image from a link that took me to tumblr, the post was opened and it deleted everything 😭😭

Basically what I wanted to say is that in the show she's so comfortable in Corona and she knows everything all the time. She knows all the people, she grew up in the castle as the captain's daughter, so she's used to their procedures, tournaments. She knows castle employees and knows rumors - knows how to find Varian, she knows the castle horses, she knows how and where to go to sneak out through tunnels, she knows history (the king with 11 fingers, the saporians, and basically everything she can know about the history of Corona), in the book she also knows the legend of the lost lagoon; she knows culture, festivals, norms. She is the perfect guide for Rapunzel exactly because she's so local, so coronian, that she knows exactly what to do anytime and anywhere. The writers basically use her as this well-informed person that knows everything about the kingdom so that she can inform Rapunzel, Eugene and the audience stuff that they don't know.

And she's a free spirit, she seems pretty confident in exploring through the forest with Rapunzel or going to old Corona with her, so in my opinion the cartography trait from the lost lagoon book matches a lot, cause she can map everything she explores. I like to headcanon that she has this fixation on exploring and mapping. We don't know what her daily routine was like before she became Rapunzel's lady in waiting, but it would be fun to imagine that exploration was a big part of it. Cass is the one who suggests sneaking out, and she reassures Rapunzel that it's safe so confidently.

The reason she makes maps in the book is to impress her dad to enter the guard. Love that her trait of knowing everything in Corona is really present in the book, she knows even the amount of lakes and rivers, like damn. I like to imagine that she knows the festival dances and castle procedures and how to show respect to royalty in public and and and

In the book she just went outdoors more because of the lost lagoon, I wish we could see more of this side of her in the show. Also, all the Corona maps have some irregularities, it would be fun to imagine that Cass drew those or something. Overall these exploration and knows-it-all traits are some of the first things that come up in my mind when I think of her, and it's weird that they weren't that shown in the series. Causes me some mandela effect, cause wdym she is not always sneaking out?
