Comment if you don't see your illness
A big part of mental health is taking care of YOU!
Diagnosis
Mental illness comes in so many forms, including Bipolar Disorder. When mental illness was centered on me, it was overwhelming. Especially when I was diagnosed with Bipolar. It felt like my life was crashing down around me. “Bipolar Disorder” when I heard those words, every emotion that you could ever feel flooded my body. Like most people I was under educated and became scared it was going to change everything. Let me tell you what I did after I got the news. I hid. I hid it from everyone. I didn’t want to talk about it or acknowledge it. I mean come on, who hasn’t hid from something that scared them? I’m sure I’m not the only one. Once I opened my eyes and did some research I realized I was handling this all wrong. I needed to let everyone close to me know what was going on because this wasn’t something I could handle alone. It’s never easy dealing with mental illness, but day to day I am learning what my triggers are and how to work through the issues. Coming up soon I will post a list of things I notice or feel during my manic and depressive episodes.
Reminder!
YOU are loved!
YOU are worth it!
Never let the thoughts in your head push til you feel otherwise.
A little bit about what you'll find here. I started this blog for a few reasons. 1) a safe place to journal and get out what's in my head. 2) a place for people who deal with the same issues to know they aren't alone. 3) a place to share things I've found that help.
