Another quiet laugh escaped him.
"I'll admit something," he said after a pause.
"This is going to sound ridiculous."
"Go on."
"I've always been oddly self-conscious about it."
"Really?" she asked, surprised.
He nodded.
"So hearing someone say something nice about it..."
He shrugged, smiling sheepishly.
"...is strangely reassuring."
She smiled back.

He looked at her for a moment before shaking his head with another laugh.

"I... I... I just... I can't," he stammered. "I just can't. It's... it's something... special to me."
"What kind of special?" she asked.
"Uh... the kind of special you don't really want to experience to happen with someone who's twenty years older than you," he admitted.
"Hmm..." she said thoughtfully. "Let me guess... Do you have... a belly button kink?"
He looked away, his face turning even redder.
