trollhunters: changed heart au
page 9: (Heh, they do. But Jim isn’t the type to give his life story to a stranger.) (I suppose that’s fair.) (I think… he will figure out his issues, with some time.) (Same.)
page 10: (They probably don’t know that I can hear them. I understand their concern, but my concern lies elsewhere. Merlin’s potion was meant to be permanent, so what made that not true anymore? And don’t get me started on the Khronisphere. I need to learn what these things are. For myself, not from others.)
page 11: (Now, to do some research.)
(The Potion of the New Flesh is a dangerous potion, its effects permanent and completely transmuting the user's form into that of another species. The potion's effects depend of the ingredients chosen, as they will connect the body's base form into the bodily system connected to the ingredients chosen to create the potion, transforming them into that creature.
For example, if the user is a troll, their form can be altered to a specific degree of severity, depending on the amount of ingredients used, making them either fully non-troll, or simply part-troll. This applies to any being that uses this potion.
It is also important to mention that sentient beings can only be transformed into a form of another sentient creature, and the same goes for non-sentient beings. Trolls cannot become plants or animals.
Overall, the process is completely permanent. The potion's effects cannot be tampered with post-use, and any attempt to reverse it, even with the same potion, will not result in anything happening, Though, if a powerful enough magic affects the user, the effects will either become more prevalent or will mutate, changing the user into something different. This is extremely rare to occur, though, as few magic users are capabale of curses that can create this much dysfunction.
If a user of this potion would somehow miraculously become their base form again, know that this is not true. The traits of that second form will always be there in some shape or form.
Mutation can even resolve in changeling-like physiology.)
page 12: (Tch! Thanks for the heads up, Merlin. I can only hope that I’ll figure this out.)
Author’s notes: lore dump. I wonder how the curse in conjunction with the potion has affected Jim as a being. Can you imagine ehehehe?
also, I think it’s neat how Claire says “he’ll figure out his problems” idk that choice of words brings back memories of previous times with Claire and Jim, ones you may not have noticed
