Over the last couple of years I’ve had to deal with a lot of things that have hurt me, from being told I wasn’t pretty enough, that I’m fat, that no guy will ever like me, that I’m ugly, stupid, my personality sucks, I’m a weird fan girl, to being criticised for everything I do, hiding my sexuality because I was scared I’d get bullied more, to being friends with toxic people, this mental and emotional pain lead to severe depression, severe anxiety and well self harm and suicidal thoughts, for around 4 years I would self harm and try to kill myself because of being bullied and feeling like I’d never be enough and like I said this lasted for 4 years, between age 12-16 and I was always sad I had around 3-8 breakdowns/meltdowns a day and I well just wanted to end everything as I knew it and I thought that no one cared about me and well nothing or no one could help me... well except for one person.
That one person was Taylor.
Taylor you taught me to embrace my individuality, to be me, that it’s ok to be different, to block out the noise, helped me realise that some friends were not lifelong friends, you taught me to love my curves, that being nice to everyone can be a dangerous game to play, it’s ok to fail as long as im trying its ok, to banish the drama, to not care who society thinks I should be, how to form my own opinion on things, that I’m the only one of me, that it’s great to explore different fashion options eg stripey pants!, how to fight fair with the ones I love, that disarming petty bullying can be as simple as laughing, to find my own voice, you helped me come out as bisexual🏳️🌈, Taylor you saved my life, I would not be here today if it wasn’t for you.
Now you’re probably wondering why I’m telling this to a bunch of strangers, well the reason is I think it’s important to talk about the things we have faced and over come as it can help others who are going through similar things and shows them that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that eventually it all gets better, you see on the 2nd of August 2019 I was one year and 9 months clean from self harm and I am happy, confident and loving who I am and where I’m going, I love you all so much😊💖
