I know I'm late to the game. I just discovered this awesome group, Twenty One Pilots. Their music is very multiple personality and I love it! They can go from pop ballad to rap to electronic to rock all in one song. The transition is flawless and brilliant. Then there's the occasional ukulele number that makes you melt. #twentyonepilots

Even though ‘Out Of The Woods’ is a song about a relationship, I love how the video is about self-confidence, self-reliance and self-empowerment.

I can’t imagine a better way to start off a new year than with a incredible video to an incredible song promoting those important qualities. Especially, for me personally, as I know there are challenges, changes and uncertainties my family and I will face this year that will have me asking, “Are we out of the woods yet? Are we in the clear yet?” So the release of this video and it’s message was perfect timing for me.

Thank you, Taylor, for continuing to inspire people with your talents and thoughtfulness. Thank you for making the conscious decision to make a difference in this world for the better. Thank you for writing such an incredible song and making such a beautiful, stunning and breathtaking video with a very important message to go along with it!

And Taylor, most importantly, thank you for being my guide to getting out of the woods!

Oh, Taylor… Ever since the ‘Out Of The Woods’ music video came out on New Year’s Eve, I have been obsessing over it and watching it over and over again. I don’t smoke or drink coffee, so instead of taking cigarette or coffee breaks (like some people do), I have been taking ‘Out Of The Woods’ music video breaks through out the day. I am just as addicted to this music video as some people are to cigarettes or coffee. THIS VIDEO GIVES ME LIFE!!! It is intense, beautiful, stunning, magical, fantastical, brilliant, haunting, meaningful, so epic, awesome and every word that describes greatness!!!

I’m not a filmmaker but I love the art of filmmaking. I absolutely love Joseph Kahn’s cinematic approach to making music videos. Especially, what he did with 'Blank Space’, 'Bad Blood’, 'Wildest Dreams’, and now 'Out Of The Woods’. You both are taking music videos to whole new levels!

There are so many awesome shots and sequences in this video. I have so many questions! Like:

-That shot where you are standing on the edge of the cliff and the camera sweeps up from behind you and over your head to the front of you… !!!! CRAZY AMAZING SHOT!!! Like, HOLY CRAP! How did you not fall off the cliff? You were literally on the edge. And by the way your hair and dress was whipping around, it looks like a helicopter shot. Seriously, how did you not get knocked off by all the wind? Did they CGI the edge of the cliff?

-Also, that shot where it looks like you fell through the ocean floor and then got dropped out of the sky, and you’re lying on the barren ground… SO COOL!!! It looks like they dumped a ton of water on you. Was it a helicopter again?

I have so many more questions but this post is already way too long so I won’t ask them. Instead, Taylor, could you please release a behind the scenes video or videos of the making of 'Out Of The Woods’. Preferably a long one. I am so, so, so intrigued by this video and the production of it.

Thank you, Taylor for all the amazing and awesome things you do! You are truly leaving a great legacy.

Taylor Swift is a Fearless Leader!

The last few days I’ve been seeing many posts about how Adele is being “glorified” for not streaming her new music on streaming sites and when Taylor held back her music from streaming sites, she was criticized and called many names (which I will not repeat). Well, this is my 2 cents on the situation.

Often times, a leader or “trailblazer” is criticized and ridiculed by people who don’t understand or share their vision. In this case, many of those people who called Taylor names and greedy are people in the general public who have little or no knowledge of how the music business works. It also doesn’t help that these people get their information from tabloids who make things up just to get clicks or sell magazines. 

Regarding Spotify and Apple Music, it was not easy to do what Taylor did. She understands the repercussions of public misconception (probably more than anyone) and is willing to take all the blows on behalf of all her fellow artists and musicians. What many people don’t really know about, is all the thanks, appreciation and support that Taylor is getting from her peers. She is their champion!   

I don’t claim to know everything about the music industry. I just have a fascination with it and read a lot about it. I do believe that it is no coincidence that while streaming is increasing, record and album sales are decreasing. My guess is, Adele and her record label is hoping to sell 1 million+ albums of 25 in the first week by not streaming her new music. 

Taylor, you inspire me everyday with your music, grace, thoughtfulness, wisdom, sense of humor, outlook on life, big heart, charity, and uplifting words. I will always support you in all your endeavors! Taylor, you are in every sense, a fearless leader!

By the way, while I was typing this post, my cat came over and sat on my laptop 3 times. He managed to delete this post two paragraphs in and typed a very long one sentence story with his butt.
