A Manâs Revenge (final)
Continued from:Â http://tinyurl.com/y8mazv24
The soft rattling of chains pierced the nothingness that surrounded Theo before a sharp pain emanated from his wrists and shoulders. He could feel the slightest trickle of something warm and wet dripping down his arms. Theo craned his neck as he tried to look around but even a simple task as it was proved difficult in his delirium.
âHello?â He called out, his throat dry and voice cracking.
The sound of feet shuffling towards him caught his ears.

A Manâs Revenge (pt. 3)

The farm was one Theo knew well. He had worked out of there for years, planning and executing missions that increased his wealth near exponentially. The house was a rundown building barely standing on the few timbers that hadnât been rotted out by the weather and the barn had been even worse. For all intents and purposes, it was abandoned and was so as he scouted it out not too long ago. Yet now he returned with information that he had missed something. That somewhere on the property hid the very person he needed to find, the one that held back their secrets and refused to share them.
Situated in the bottom of a valley, the farm had been overrun by weeds and trees growing in grotesque angles. The once cleared fields had been given a sickly hue of green, the same that followed the Forsaken everywhere they went.
With the patience of a starving wolf Theo descended into the valley. His movements were that of a ghost as he prowled through the shadows in a blur. A barn was situated just below the hill and Theo had a clear view through the collapsed roof yet he could see nothing of worth. Without giving up so soon he stepped out from the forested hill and ran across the opening until he came up to the back wall of the barn.
He listened intently, closing his eyes as he focused on all the noises that surrounded him. Birds called in the distance and a breeze tugged at the leaves causing the forest to shudder but to his frustration he could not hear anything that would dictate the presence of others.
Stepping around the back wall, Theo circled the barn. If anyone had been here recently there would be signs, whether it was something as simple as a faint boot print of even a piece of cloth tugged free by an errant nail. His eyes searched and scoured every inch of the barn as he lifted timbers and dropped down to his belly, placing his ear to the floor. All his attempts were in vain as he could sense nothing.
Turning away from the barn he eyed the house and a sigh of frustration left him. The last time he searched the house he had been thorough to the point the only thing he could do was tear it down. Yet now he was tasked with searching it again.
Not wasting any more time, Theo turned to the house and approached it with a burning hatred. There were secrets somewhere within that called and tormented him all the same. To his dismay dust coated the floor in a thick layer, adding further proof that the house was still abandoned yet for all his travels he couldnât give up just then. He began at the ground level, checking the floors for loose floorboards and tearing them up as he found them. He searched the walls, rapping his knuckles against it searching for a hollow point. Cupboards were searched and candlesticks pulled.
Silence had gone out of the window as the prospect of finding her seemed to be a longshot. Now he just wanted to find a sign, something that would tell him she or anyone had been here. He turned to the fireplace, dragging his hands over the face of the stones searching for a hidden button or lever. Without any luck he ducked under the low hanging mantle and stood up within the chimney, his eyes scanning the soot stained walls that surrounded him.
Shuffling his feet in the crowded area, he inched towards a corner, eyeing what looked to be a gap in the stone. A loose stone was set into the floor that his eyes had missed; covered in soot and ash it looked no different from the other stones that surrounded it, yet as his foot slid over it he felt his weight press it down. A faint whirring sound then suddenly began beyond stone walls as the back wall began to move ever so slowly and with a lot of noise.
âGotcha.â He said in a hushed voice as the wall began to move, a feeling of elation spread through him but was short lived as a sharp âtwangâ caught his ears. A sudden pain coursed through his leg as a long and thin dart protruded from the leathers. He grabbed at the metal shaft and tried to pull it free but had to stop, the barbed end having imbedded itself deep within his flesh.
âFuck, fuck, fuck.â He whispered through gritted teeth. His mind was growing paranoid at the thought of poison. He knew who he was dealing with and chided himself at being so careless. âKeep it⌠together.â He growled as his tongue began to feel clumsy and a cold sweat broke over his brow. The stairs before him swayed back and forth as his vision grew dim.
The last he saw was the steps rising to meet him.

A Manâs Revenge (pt. 2)
Continued from:Â http://tinyurl.com/y83sfhae
One with a nose could only spend so much time in Undercity. For Theo that time was mere minutes. As soon as he materialized within the city of sewage and death he felt bile rise in the back of his throat. The leather and silk mask that wrapped around his face offered little respite from the stench that seemed to permeate every inch of the city. The only true reprieve was as he rode in the elevator, the thick and noxious air turning sweeter with every foot he rose.
Tirisfal was still cloaked in the shadows of night as he took his first step out of the city. He trekked north, winding his way through the haunted forests before skirting around the edges of Brill heading towards the forgotten cemetery.
For months he had scouted out his path, stalking the shadows through the dead land as he watched the comings and goings of traders, guards and whatever filth wandered the lands. For months he had prepared and as each step brought him closer his heart thumped a little harder within his chest. It was a sort of adrenaline he was unfamiliar with, one associated with anxiety and a touch of stress. Yet there was a sort of exhilaration as the cemetery came into view, the stone mausoleums and crypts dotting the landscape with the ground pockmarked with opens graves.
Theo stalked the ground surrounding the cemetery, inching around the stone wall until he came across a subtle mark he left long ago. It was no more than a single scratch upon the wall with a curved edge that doubled back to the top. Unnoticeable to the common looker who saw only a crumbling wall, yet that had been the point.
Facing the marked wall, Theo took four steps back and one to the left. He rocked on his heels, feeling the ground give way ever so slightly, before dropping to his knees and stabbing his fingers into the dirt. It didnât take long before he found the edge of a wooden board and with great care he lifted one side of it to give him just enough room to slide beneath it; lowering the board back into place once he was comfortably lost inside the inky blackness of his underground nest.
Time meant nothing as he laid within his tomb. The dirt walls that surrounded him were invisible yet he knew where they were. The small tunnel had room only for one yet that mattered little. No one knew where he was and he planned on keeping it that way.
Crawling, he edged under the stone wall and up a small incline towards the end of his tunnel, blocked by another board. He lifted it ever so gently and rested his jaw into a small groove in the dirt. It wasnât the most comfortable position he had been in but he had gone to lengths attempting to make it so for he knew hours upon hours would be spent there, watching the crypts for anyone coming or going. This was there meeting place after all and it was only a matter of time, or so he told himself.
The rest of the night had gone by quickly, the early morning sun beginning to peak over the distant mountains to the east. He had spent the entire night awake and on a vigilant watch yet for nothing. The crypts remained empty and the sole visitor had been a lonely Forsaken that exhumed yet another corpse for their âexperimentsâ or whatever it was that they did.
The day was reserved for sleep, the cool confines of his tunnel offering a rather relaxing place for him to close his eyes, while the night was for watching. It was a terribly boring time for him, his nerves fraying at the ends as each minute turned to an hour and hour turned to into a day. By the third day of watching he almost gave in, his patience wearing thin as he saw nothing of importance.
The targets he was so sure of finding seemed to disappear altogether and the seeds of doubt spread into his mind.
What if they knew I was coming?
Could they have found my nest?
Are they coming for me now or setting a trap?
As each hour ticked by his paranoia grew. The walls around him seemed to close in, sweat building upon his brow as his head began to swim. His breathing became ragged as he pushed his way backwards; fighting every inch of the way to be free of his tunnel and the dirt walls that threatened to collapse around him.
Backing into the board he pushed it out of his way and crawled out into the night. He tore his mask free from his face and tossed it to the side as he collapsed onto his back. His chest rose and fell with each breath as his heart beat wildly.
When his heart quit beating in his ears another sound caused a rush of adrenaline to flood through him; it was that of muted conversation spoken in Thalassian.
Rising, he looked around to pinpoint the direction of the voices. They were coming from the graveyard and not far beyond the wall that blocked his view. Cautiously he grabbed his mask and fit it back into place. His feet moved over the rough ground with trained precision. He was a spectre of the night.
Rounding a far edge of the wall Theo stepped inside of the cemetery. He moved from tombstone to tombstone, his body never stepping into the light of torches and always cloaked in shadows. He moved quickly but carefully, cutting the distance between himself and the source of the voices in half before the moon could rise above the trees. He had no idea how long they had been there nor how long they would remain but he knew he had to be quick as they were the key to his entire operation.
The meeting was where he expected it to be, two individuals clad in black stood outside of a grand mausoleum. The exchange was tense as their hushed voices seemed to be arguing, yet the contents of their conversation was of little concern. They had answers and he was going to get them somehow.
Stepping around a large slab of stone, Theo burst into a sprint. His feet moved in a blur as twin curved daggers were held out and ready. He came low and fast, dropping to his knees as he slid over the smoothed cobblestone. His daggers flashed out, tearing into the legs of the first assassin, the blades once a pristine silver were now crimson in color as they severed through the muscles and tendons with ease.
Theo never heard the man cry out as he leapt to his feet and tackled the second man, his daggers driving into the manâs shoulders as he drove him to the ground.
âWhere is she!â He screamed, the mask barely muffling his words.
The man beneath him began to stammer, his words incoherent before he managed to ask âwhoâ.
Theo twisted the blades, the metal carving against the bones as the man screamed in pain. âWhere is she?â He yelled again, knowing the man knew damn well who he was after.
âThe farmhouse⌠Silverpine, south of the keep⌠Just stop, please just stop.â He cried out much faster than had been expected.
âGood.â The daggers tore free from his shoulders before one quick motion left two gaping wounds in the manâs neck, blood staining the stones beneath him as he thrashed about. Theo then turned to the other who had attempted to crawl away, his legs no longer able to support his body.
No words were spared for him as he walked up behind the man and entwined his fingers within the manâs hair. He ripped his head up and back before driving a dagger into the base of his skull; the man shuddering once before falling still.

A Manâs Revenge. (pt. 1 of ?)
The large wooden doors sat before him like a portal to another world. In fact, beyond those doors laid many portals to all corners of Azeroth. Theo stared intently at them, willing them to open when all he had to do was simply give them a nudge, yet something held him back.
It wasnât the lack of gear for he had checked himself repeatedly. His fear of being caught was minimal as well for it was late and the clouds hid him well in his midnight blue leathers. It wasnât anything he could control for he had been meticulous in his planning; it was just the mission itself. He was about to embark upon the single greatest mission of his life, one that offered him no guarantee of survival yet had to be completed all the same.
It was the doors that held him up. Such a fickle barrier; one that can easily be overcome by a simple pull, push, turn of the handle or pistol for the more adventurous types. But still he couldnât get himself to enter the Tower. It was the fact that once he stepped through the door he would be committed and even more-so as he stepped through the portal that lied within.
Checking his gear once more, his hands moved deftly over his leather clad body. A mix of knives were fixed firmly to his body and each pouch had been carefully packed and sealed so there would be no risk of noise as he moved about. The vials that lined around his belt were sealed in wax with a stopper on the top and his swords were sheathed and firmly fixed to a small square, of cloth, leather and metal, situated in the middle of his back â an invention of his specifically designed for the mission.
Satisfied he had everything he needed, and nothing he didnât, Theo stepped forward with a note in hand. His eyes scanned over the message before a thin smile spread across his hidden lips. With a bit of care, he gently nailed it to the door with a small letter opener, sharpened to a fine point. He knew it would be found sooner or later as was the goal. He couldnât leave for what could possibly be forever without leaving some sort of message and a cryptic one seemed best.
Satisfied; he pushed the door opened and rushed through the Mage Tower heading towards the portal to Undercity. He wasted not a second as he knew time was limited and stepped through the portal, his eyes dancing over the Mage Tower before everything phased out and a new setting greeted him.

The beginnings and ends of shadow lie between the light and darkness and may be infinitely diminished and infinitely increased. Shadow is the means by which bodies display their form. The forms of bodies could not be understood in detail but for shadow.

Withdrawalâ
âI could say that Iâm hurt but it wouldnât be true,             the knife in my back â it reminds me of you.â
She knows how to cannily handle a blade â when it cuts, its perilous edge cleaves ruthlessly through flesh that seems reluctant to give way, woven through as it was by fel, like vile filaments subtly stitched through the very fiber of her being. And the pain that rides along the razored edge is perversely exquisite: punishing, yes â deliciously, deplorably â but also purging, all at once steeped in self-loathing and yet sickly lascivious, and she â faithless witch, wanton beast â dimly wonders (within the riotous din of her thoughts) how anything could possibly compare to this, the power lurking like a living thing in her poisoned veins, beating in her pulse like the wings of a dying moth.
The blood wells like dark wine, like liquid garnet, sluicing its wet heat down slender arms that will never concern themselves with scars, obscenely red against the strikingly snow-pale white of skin too unsettlingly flawless to have been anything but the byproduct of her lurid sorcery; it pools slickly in palms intimately acquainted with its stain, slips through sly fingers that curve to its flow, trying to catch it as futilely as one might the inexorable sands of an hourglass. It runs in scarlet rivulets down dainty wrists like grisly shackles and steadily drips down and down and down, filling up the hungry hollows painstakingly etched into the stonewrought altar she kneels over â its deeply carved, complex runework fed by the sacrifice of her own vitality, roused by the dark magic that breathes from her pores like a ladyâs perfume and drapes the staunch, poised lines of her predatorâs body as blackly as widowâs-weeds.
When she speaks, its with an authority made vicious by the violence wrapping up her voice in acid, with contemptuously twisted mouth and venomously lambent eyes that snap with the sheer savagery of her leashed fury â and with only her own presence there to haunt the chamber, her and the velvety shadows that crowd around her as though she were their own creature, it seems a personal assertion.
âBleed it out and tear it to pieces. Burn it down to ash and let another languish. One more lesson learned, for whatever it was worth; one more face better off forgotten.â
Her elegant crown bows, veiling her like a debauched bride in the white-gold wealth of her satiny curls, a grimly compelling portrait of some haughty supplicant surrendering prayer to a deity whose domain lay in ruin and whose responsive wrath burns in her own chest.
You are a firefly thinking yourself at your brightest as you flit throughout the night.
How it galled her, the way the imperious words still haunted the secret corners of her mind like a wraithâs whisper â but sheâs been chased by phantoms before, borne the bruises left by doubtâs insidious teeth, has quaffed deeply of desperationâs cup. This, this is a brand of bile sheâd long ago begun building up a bulwark against. This, this is merely bitter reminiscence.
This, this is nothing. But she, she is everything. And she will always come first.

Aidan Sunglade:
Race: Sinâdorei
FC: Garett Hedlund
Class: Rogue
Personality: Aidan is a generally friendly fellow with a lot of odd quirks. Though lacking in one eye and scarred on the right half of his face he is very expressive. He enjoys observing people and pays close attention to the details with a lopsided smile on his face. Itâs hard to tell when he is taking anythign seriously, let alone being his actual self.

and finally
Sariannah Morningtread
Race: Sinâdorei
Fc: Amber Heard
Class: Hunter
Personality: Calm, almost unnervingly so. She keeps her voice low and her actions even quieter. Though not the best with scoial situations she is a friendly individual with a lot of social anxiety. Though blind, she seems very capable of handling herself, and will be quick to remind anyone who crosses a line.
