After avoiding any type of spoilers, including the trailer, I've finally watched FD Bloodlines!

And I LOVED IT! Final Destination, especially FD5, got me so obsessed as a kid back then. It def helped with my gorefiction and bodyhorror interests today. While FD5 still having a special place in my heart, Bloodlines became my favorite of the franchise. The end credits was chef's kiss. I replayed it who knows how much!

AND NOW THE MAIN TOPIC:

Ppl who knows me knows I have a lifelong habit of faving the characters who shows up early and dies shortly after to be obscured forever.

I fell for it again and now Chet is my absolute fav character of the franchise ( ;v;)

Everyone is "Erik is this Erik is that" but look at him!!!!

I legit need merch of him rn! Obsession might even reach changing the texting app pfp too!

SOMETHING IMPORTANT LIKE MAYBE A THEORY?

The end credits reveals the fates of some of the Sky View survivors. So, naturally I tried to read them. But couldn't find anything relating to Chet. The Fandom page of Chet also doesn't highlight anything. Then I saw this comment on YT:

This made me immediately think: What if Chet wasn't meant to die in the premonition? What if Chet didn't die after he survived the Sky View? What if he somehow skipped death? Like by cheating it?

Cheat? Chet!??

I know this may go nowhere and he prob died later on but what are the odds that they picked a name that sounds this close to "cheat" and also not have his death article visible?

I think I'm going somewhere...

Just saw an interview with Chet's actor Travis Turner and he confirms that Chet's death was mentioned in those newspaper clippings. But, unfortunately, he didn't give any details on how he died or when... dammit!

"5. Were there any newspaper clippings about the character’s death? – Yes, I remember seeing clippings spanning from the 1960s up to 2025 that referenced Chet’s fate. They helped paint a broader picture of the character’s arc."

Tbh im very suspicious of the phone booth death, maybe that was Chet.. I couldn't read it because of the quality though.

Also, more Chet info bcuz I am starving:

"I loved how he subtly carried the emotional weight of the other characters. I imagined Chet as someone who had endured much behind the scenes, and in my personal timeline for him, I believe he passed away shortly after the events at Sky View."

I kinda see him as someone who at least believed and tried to help Iris when the deaths started to happen. However Death got him earlier. I also very much dig the idea of him having a deeper background, maybe a reason why he was more heroic than any other worker in Sky View. Anything Travis Turner says is canon to me! o7 o7
