**Our New Goal: $19,500**
Thanks so much to every contributor for the overwhelming response! From the backers who set up the dollar-for-dollar matching campaign to each of you who helped us meet our goal, we are so grateful! We are so excited to bring SwingX to life, and from the response the project has received it is clear to us that you folks want to see this movie as much as we do!
Because of all the wonderful support we have received in the last week, we have not only hit our $12,000 goal, but exceeded it. This will open incredible new opportunities for increased production value.
So what are we going to do with the extra funding? Glad you asked! Our new plan is to shoot the entire movie on the 'RED epic'. What is the RED epic? It’s a state-of-the-art cinema camera used to shoot state-of-the-art films, including Iron Man 3, Resident Evil, The Hobbit, and The Great Gatsby. Why $19,500?
The RED Epic is one of the highest quality cameras in the business. This camera isn’t cheap, but fortunately, we have been able to get a pretty sweet rental deal on it. If we hit $19,500, we can secure the RED Epic camera, accessories, lenses, and insurance for the shoot. Currently we have less than $5,500 to go!
SwingX is happening thanks to you! The film will be shot in HD regardless, but the RED Epic will allow us to achieve a level of detail and quality that will truly capture the energy and enthusiasm of the swing scene. Capable of focusing on a sweat droplet flung from a dancer's chin, the RED Epic will bring a look and feel that will truly do justice to the work and passion that has already been poured into this project.
