gluten is not bad for you if you’re not allergic/don’t have celiac disease
superfoods aren’t real, they’re just healthy things with maybe some nicer levels of certain vitamins
vaccines do not cause autism or really anything else and the chemicals present in them that typically scare you are in such minute amounts that they do precisely fuck-all in your body (we’re talking scales of one part per million)
you cannot do a cleanse or diet to “rid your body of toxins,” your kidneys and liver have that covered
GMO foods will not kill you; most genetic crop modification just makes our crops hardier and produce more food (and genetic modification doesn’t inject more chemicals into your food, it’s just minor altering of DNA that is made of the exact same stuff your DNA is made from)
What doesn’t kill me should’ve tried harder

I always say don’t be afraid of failure, because how far can you really fall? You found out - to the ground. It’s right there. Now you know it isn’t anything that should scare you.
You should be proud that you weren’t afraid - not embarrassed that you failed. You could have made excuses not to walk into the door, but you didn’t. You knew it would be hard, and it would be uncomfortable, and it might be awkward - and you did it anyway. That’s courage.
I’m proud of you.
The last guy I rooted for broke a world record in the deadlift. You have more in common with him than you think.
First, he started out lifting just the bar, too (when you look at him, he may have been 3 months old at that point). Second, imagine his courage. He walked up to that bar in front of a big audience and television cameras, knowing that not only had he never lifted that much before - NO ONE on earth had - and it was highly likely he would completely fail. You may not think about it this way, but you showed that courage, on a smaller level.
Finally, I’m rooting for you, too. You took the first step and you fell, but at least you fell in the right direction, so get back up and take the next step. Keep moving forward.”

Lauren Lent, a Wisconsin high school student weighing in at 123 pounds, set state records and blew minds at the March lifting meet. She lifted, in total, 965 pounds. This includes a 410-pound squat and a 405-pound deadlift.
As PowerLiftingHigh reported, “A 965lbs total would also be the state record for the the 132lbs, 148lbs, 165lbs, and 181lbs classes.“

Yes. No matter what shape you’re in, you are always in a space that is typically not “yours” to occupy, as a woman.
It’s rare for women in my gym to come into the weight area without their boyfriends or husbands. I’m one of the only ladies that lifts independent of my fiancé — there’s only a few others.
I get a lot of unwanted attention because I’m a woman that lifts, and because I’m muscular.
Lots of gratuitous/obvious staring (from both men and women)
Comments (usually some borderline inappropriate comment about my body or asking me what steroids I must be using, and I’m natural)
Rude behavior (men hounding me to get me out of the squat rack, but they don’t say a word to the guy curling in the squat rack next to me)
The list goes on. It does take a certain amount of bravery to enter the weight area — no one bothers to do this to me, but many of the other women try to go in and lift and are constantly interrupted by men who want to “help” them or whatever.
Had no idea Mike Chang lived in Austin. I ran into him at a random gas station
