ever since i was young, i loved to see fictional men have messed up relationships with their fathers. i think the main appeal lay in the novelty of a man being in such a powerless position, where he's not really a man at all but a son, at the mercy of his father's inherent dominance over the family.

however in recent years, as many of you know, i've discovered the wonders of fictional girls having messed up relationships with their fathers. and that's sort of a different ball game when it comes to power dynamics. it's less a plot twist and more a twist of the knife.

she's powerless in the family, but she isn't given power outside of it either, so her father can throw around his weight even more effectively. and where conflict often arises from a father forcing his son to be just like him, his daughter is seen as someone who can never be like him. there's greater disparity and greater separation.

I was explaining black butler from Sebastians perspective to my mom and its accidentally one of the weirdest things ive said

"imagine you promise a really delicious looking chicken to help it take revenge on someone, and after you help it, you can eat it. but then it turns out you have to be this chickens butler and also the chicken turns out to be really annoying and names you after his pet which also happens to be your least favorite animal."

I do really like your final villain theory for black butler!! I am pretty sure Vincent is older but still I feel like her having a strong personality that is overlooked because she’s a woman is a very good point! Plus we don’t know that much about Vincent or Rachel tbh. Like we get these snippets but we don’t have the full picture so who knows what their dynamics were like with the other family members!

possibly Vincent is older, I feel like I heard somewhere that she is older. even is she doesn't end up being the final villain I'd still love to see more of her!

black butler queen theory

Queen Victoria, the queen of England, according to ciel she has the ability to figure out which flap of a butterfly wings could cause a tornado, (or something along the lines of that) this theory of mine goes in to what she might do if she gets a villain arc.

the queen has always had an intimidating presence in the show, with everyone constantly reminding our ciel that he obeys her orders like a dog, many have speculated that she is the one who had the Phantomhive Manor burned down to test the future guard dogs, but I dont think she would go that far, this theory is what she might do with the bizarre dolls, because while I do not think she will be the final villain, she is hinted to being a villain.

at the end of either the public school arc or the free witch arc, there is a panel of the queen wondering about how the bizarre dolls would be as an army, and when the undertaker is first shown as a villain, he comments on how the bizarre dolls would take away the fear of death in an army, so the queen is hinted to being a villain through her interest in the bizarre dolls.

how I would think this pans out is, the queen hears of real ciel coming back, and she meets undertaker, with her interest in the bizarre dolls before, she might be eager to talk to him about getting more of them to build an army of them, which would be another obstacle for ciel and Sebastian, and would lead to another arc.

black butler final villain theory

yes yes I know, real ciel and the undertaker are the final villains, but I ask you one question, what about the people who burned down the Phantomhive Manor? it wasn't real ciel because he was like 10, and it wasn't undertaker because he wants the phantomhives alive, so my final villain theory revolves around ciels aunt, lizzie and Edwards mother, Vincents older sister, the marchioness Francis Midford.

imagine this, you are the eldest child in the family of prestigious nobles working directly under the queen, since you are the eldest you get the family business, but no! your a girl, in victorian England, it doesn't matter that your the eldest, everything goes to your younger brother, and you are married off. that is what happens to Francis Midford.

Francis is a strong woman who is seen criticizing Sebastian and fighting off the undead, she would no doubt be a great choice to lead the aristocrats of evil, but of course her younger brother is chosen, being the strong independent woman she is, she is pissed about this, so she concocts a plan to kill her brothers family, so by default she is next in line for the queens guard dog, or at least it transfers to Edward or something.

she orchestrated everything, the cultists, the burning of the manor. she did this to prove she is just as capable as her brother, also she maybe does not like incest and objects to her daughter marrying her nephew.

either way Francis Midford is a really cool character, and if she gets a villain arc I will be overjoyed.

black butler crack theory

okay okay okay, so I was thinking, real ciel and undertaker can't be the final villains of black butler because they did not attack the Phantomhive Manor, real ciel didn't do it because he was like 10, and undertaker doesn't want the phantom hives to die. so WHO is the final boss of black butler?

I have another more plausible theory this is the stupid theory.

so lets talk about prince soma's father, the king of bengal. we have heard little about him, but why would he let soma, the prince just go to England with just one servant? I think I know, it's to keep tabs on ciel. perhaps the old king of bengal, had some beef with Vincent for one reason or another and then burned down his house, and gave his kids to cultists. but THEN our ciel lives, then he concocts a plan, when soma wants to go to England to get mina back, he lets him go with one condition... he kills Ciel Phantomhive.

I know, I know, soma loves ciel, but have you ever thought why after the street fight, soma just shows up at ciels doorstop? how he even locates him? its because he's following his fathers orders, after ciel "shows soma the light" soma abandons his fathers plans. but then (this part is a theory of what might happen if I'm right) when Agni gets killed by someone who looks exactly like the ciel soma knows, he snaps and goes back to his fathers orders.

I dont really believe in this theory, but this was just a theory... a sword fern theory

beast could have been better! (black butler)

I have come to rant today about one of the ONLY female villains in black butler, you got it folks... its BEAST (from the circus arc, the tiger tamer, got seduced by Sebastian)

now I must say, I have many problems with beast. I have noticed a few people dislike her because she got seduced by Sebastian (do I smell jealous fangirls?) but I have actual problems with her! she could have been a much more compelling character!

first, she was a minor villain in the whole circus arc, she shared the stage with the other orphans taken in by baron kelvin, but all her plot importance was the fact that she got seduced and gave information to Sebastian. first may I say, its not surprising she gave up that information, she was in a fragile state of mind and would have told anyone at the moment. BUT I would have added a few things to her character.

everything about her is romance, she has a crush on joker, and dagger has a crush on her, and she sleeps with Sebastian, that's basically her whole character arc... let me add a few things.

first I would have added a few more scenes that might have shown how she could have been a mother figure to the younger kids, and they did show her fighting skills but they should have shown her more being her own person instead of being defined by her relationships with men.

also her outfit was awful

SHE COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER!

im in a point in time where im conflicted over searching "black butler" on here, purely because I am genuinely terrified of what I will potentially find.

for those of you who think silco was a bad father to jinx, I will now prove you wrong.

it has come to my attention that SOME of you *cough* *cough* jared *cough* *cough* think silco was a bad father to jinx because he fed into her insecurities and blah blah blah, well enough! I have come to set the record straight once and for all!

silco is a child of trauma just like jinx, his action caused Felicia to die and then Vander (his brother figure) tried to kill him, very traumatic. unlike jinx, he didn't have someone in his life to tell him It would be okay, or to even guide him in some way, he built that criminal empire alone.

then he see's powder crying in the streets because her sister left her and she unknowingly caused her friends to die, that strikes a chord in silco, because his brother left him too, his actions caused his friends death too.

so he gives her exactly what he thought he needed in the past. he gives her a new name, a new identity, he gives her support for everything she does, yeah he feeds a bit into her insecurities, but we must remember that he is just as traumatized as her, growing up in a place where no one really cares for each other is tough, and in his own way, he is helping her, he is giving her the love and support e thought he needed, and yeah it may not have been what's best for jinx in the long run, but silco was just trying to what was best for a child who reminded him of himself.

why does jinx want to die?

trigger warning:

actually, I think the real question is why WOULDNT jinx want to die? her parents died brutally when she was about 5, she accidentally killed her adoptive brothers and father, and then her sister played into her insecurities and left her. all of that is HUGELY traumatic and she's only a child still

then when she's older she's plagued by hallucinations and voices in her head, and guilt over the people she betrayed, then when her sister who abandoned her comes back, she see's it as a betrayal that she's with an enforcer, and now she's also doubting Silco, who's been the one stable person in her life (everyone else leaving in some way) and then because of her hallucinations and being overwhelmed she accidentally kills Silco. killing yet another of her father figures.

then in season two she's kind of given up hope, but then Isha comes and she sees its not gone. then Vander comes back, and she reconciles with vi, and then to protect them all, Isha sacrifices herself to save them, which breaks her even more.

I like that they made jinx suicidal, of course it's really sad and breaks my heart. but its realistic, that poor girls gone through so much of course she would want that for herself.

one of the saddest scenes in arcane (now that I reread this this is kind of a vent... sorry)

okay, im sorry I keep talking about ekko and jinx but im going to say at least one more thing about them.

personally I relate to jinx a fair bit more than I should, I won't go into it but I also have identity issues and guilt that lasts forever.

so the scene where ekko talks jinx out of killing herself was to me just so raw and real. like jinx ive also been close to ending it all but ive never had an ekko to talk me out of it, also I have identity issues so him correcting himself to jinx because he accepts her however she is, is just the most heartwrenching and heartwarming thing ive seen. that scene makes me feel warm, because he tries over and over again to save her, and he probably would've done it for eternity. that is what true love looks like.

also from ekko's perspective, he had to watch the girl he loves kill herself over and over again, and that hurts to watch. god I need an ekko in my life.
