Some inspiration/lore for the love of the game(Ofc feel free to disregard for your own maximum rock enjoyment)

—Piña is a scholar specializing in linguistics

—quiet but when genuinely prompted will softly sing about their studies for hours

—malformed sections of their carapace mean they struggle to clearly communicate without specialized armor/plating

—Kiwi is a biomedical engineer (they helped design the current version of their mate’s armor)

—every upgraded version is coincidentally accompanied by an aesthetic(or the hearing equivalent) element they know Piña will like

—they think their mate’s song is the most beautiful in all the universe, disagreeing with them is punishable by tiny dog style wrath
