Val didn’t notice the blush, instead he ambled along with a lazy and easy smile. It was a good day, even though he had to polish weapons and deal with his brother grumping about every possible thing that didn’t concern them. But he got to meet qunari for the first time today, and the both of them seemed interesting. He blinked rapidly at their explanations to prove themselves. He didn’t find it necessary, and he didn’t think he was in a high enough position to give an opinion. “Ah, I often forget that we are in this position. Many see us as though we are in a position of authority, but we are not.” He wouldn’t look nervous if facial expressions were anything to go by, but he fiddled with his long sleeves like there was stray dirt, even though his robes were pristine. “We are only important in the way of our usefulness.” Val raised his hand and soft green licked his palm. He stretched out his fingers to prove the point, and quickly extinguished it. “My brother and I are only a couple of Dalish miscreants forced into this situation by happenstance. We have no real authority. They do.” Val pointed towards the Chantry. “There are your employers. If they bother you, let me know.” Val alerted the guards to their arrival, and until Cassandra, Cullen, Josie, and Lelianna got there, Val had them wait at the entrance. “Don’t expect anything less than idiocy, and don’t ask for less than you’re worth. We will back you up.” Tay finally spoke after that long walk, and pointedly looked at the two.
Kash glanced at the elf’s hand as he raised it - brief, but the interest was clear in her eyes, sparkling with flame. So it was true? Marked, both of them, with a magic that she herself could sense when his hand glowed, green like the Breach and the tears that now were scattered across the land. Strange thing, but... intriguing.
Kahen focused on Tay’s words. Curious. Idiocy? This man didn’t hold the people surrounding him in high esteem, did he... Or perhaps he knew to keep his expectations low, as to not be dissapointed. Wise. It was always smart to expect any outcome - the best and the worst: made you ready for anything. At least it was that way in Kahen’s opinion. He gave Tay a single nod of his head. “I shall take that into consideration.”
“Heralds...” He bowed his head to both before beckoning Kash to come. It didn’t seem like the elf siblings had much of a say who the Inquisition employed, or the terms of said employment - even though technically they were the two main figures in the picture, as the world saw it. His bargaining would be with the advisors.
