âHey! What do you mean, sneaking up!? I just walkedâ Huh? Treachery? What are you talking about?â
[He couldnât help but stare and scowl at Kieran as the guy scanned and examined him like he was some⌠some kind of alien he had never seen before.]
âListen, smartypants, the only treachery here is that big talking mouth of yours. How the heck am I supposed to take a nap if you keep shouting like a gossiping magpie? Man⌠you swallowed a megaphone or what?â
Huh⌠a megaphone? Haha, oh no, this volume is all natural! A gift I was graced with at birth!Â
[Kieran laughs but trails off slowly as the rest of the blue-haired strangerâs words register. He frowns.]
Iâ what? Youâre accusing me of treachery? For a knight there can be no greater slight against his name! I demand you rescind these accusations!
[Hector couldnât believe that guy went around talking so much and so loud all dayâŚÂ Graced with at birth all right.
For some reason, the idea of a peaceful, quiet, afternoon nap was slowly starting to sound pretty unlikely to himâŚ]
âUh⌠Hey, hold your horses! And gimme a break! I wasnât being serious! That was a, you know⌠a, uh⌠figure of speeâ Aw man, you know what, forget it. Nevermind that. âŚThereâs just no way youâd shut up for a while, eh?â He muttered, almost as if he was talking to himself.
[Somehow he got the sharp feeling that, no matter how he talked or not, Kieran wasnât going to stop rambling soon about his⌠knightly stuff anytime soon.]
âSay, you a royal knight or something, right? How âbout we spar a little one of these days?â
[Slowly, his outrage ebbs away as the other man continues to speak. Kieran still isnât sure what this personâs intentions are but at the least it would seem he hadnât been intentionally provocative. He certainly does mumble a lot though⌠Really, a man should speak up! Heâ Kieranâs train of thought cuts off however as his attention fixates on the strangerâs last lines.]
Why yes, I am! One of the very finest in fact. Sub-commander of the Crimean Royal Knights, Kieran, at your service! Ahâ hmmâŚ
[He tilts his head slightly and thinks for a moment before it clicks. Understanding, he grins.]
Oh. Ohhh, I see now! If you wished to test your skills against a man of my caliber, all you had to do was ask! I apologize for my insinuations earlier, they were uncalled for. Yes, a spar would be excellent. I am ready for your challenge at any time! Be it dusk or dawn, why, even in the middle of battleâÂ
[He continues listing occasions, once again forgetting about his audience.]
Hector started thinking seriously the guy fought people by knocking them and their eardrums out cold with his⌠voice.
âReady for a challenge anytime? Huh, you donât sayâŚâ Indeed, he thought the redhaired knight was more ready to face an onslaught of lawyers rather than⌠a lord with an axe. Even he could barely follow Kieranâs words that he lost track of it. Twice. âFine by me. Call me whenever youâre not busy doing your speeches, eh? Oh, and Iâm Hector. Iâm Marquess Ostiaâs brother.â
He turned to leave (âMan, I wonder where my favorite sparring partner has gone off toâŚâ), but as he did a few steps, a thought struck him. Crimean royalâŚ?
He turned, facing his newfound ally. âHey, Redhead. You said youâre a⌠a subcommander of sorts, right? Then you gotta know that guy⌠Blast, what was his name again? Georgie? Jolly? âŚNope, I forgot. Anyway, this guy with blue hair and the shining horse, he gave me one heck of a mouthful about manners and stuff, man! The guy is general all right.â
[Kieran blinks at the sudden information.]
Oh...! You're-- forgive my lack of manners, Lord Hector, I had no idea to whom I was speaking! It has certainly been a pleasure to meet you!
[He cocks his head to the side as Hector turns back towards him. Georgie? Jolly? Mm... nope, no Royal Knights by those names. He would know. After all as second-in-command it's his duty to remember all the Knights' names. Oh, but... blue hair, radiant, impeccable manners... why that sounds like--]
Ah! You've met General Geoffrey? Yes, he's brilliant isn't he? A shining paragon of knighthood that all should aspire to! As commander of the glorious Crimean Royal Knights he could be nothing less! It is an honour to serve under such a man!
But how do you know the General, Lord Hector?
