Let’s Talk Moose

This is Marmaduke ‘Moose’ Mason. And he is my favorite Archie character.

When this character was first introduced, he was the big dumb jock stereotype. Huge, strong, and as dumb as a bag of rocks.

But, like many of the characters, he was given a more modern update in the 2015 reboot comics. Now in some instances he still seemed to be dumb

However he was given a much more in-depth look in the comics, as well as his own one-shot.

We see that he’s aware of what others think of him

He has a lot of siblings, and it’s up to him a lot of the times to take care pf them since his parents are busy

He remembers what’s important and tries to make his girlfriend happy

He has a passion for art

And there’s one other thing. It was very briefly touched upon but t offered an explanation as to why Moose struggles with certain things.

He has dyslexia

In short, Moose is a much better character than I think we give him credit for and he needs more love

Archie hate really does get to me like that poor boy has gone through a lot and it’s easy to forget he’s SIXTEEN and has a lot on his plate. He feels like the responsibility of the world is on his shoulders, and is just trying to do what he thinks is best to fix everything going wrong in Rivedale while he has adults in his ear always trying to push their own agenda. Are his choices sometimes wrong and misguided? Yes. But is he a bad person and the only one at fault? No! When you’re 16, it’s hard to make the best decisions, especially while you’re suffering from PTSD that often controls your actions and impulses. But in the end, Archie is just trying to do what he thinks is right.

im catching up on riverdale. i have to say the core four are kinda growing on me. but archie is such a little bitch

i don’t appreciate the archie slander. the poor boy is traumatized and is suffering from ptsd on top of all the bullshit happening in town and regular teenage stuff. he’s struggling like the rest of the core four so chill out with that “archie is a bitch” talk. he’s doing his best, he’s doing what he thinks is right which maybe aren’t the best choices but still.
