This hurts. This is one of the biggest jokes in this fandom and it’s irritating when it’s laughed at because this is the real Zayn. No scratch that, Zain.  This is the boy before the name change, before his need to become a better version of himself. A boy full of doubts and hesitation. A boy who thought they were only letting him though the stages for a laugh.This shows us Zayn at his weakest. This is the moment he had to find the most courage in himself to achieve his dream. You can see it in his eyes. He’s totally given up here. You can see the insecurity, the fear and even disappointment in himself . He’s changed and grew up yes but even now you sometimes see these eyes staring back at you. And it hurts because beneath the image, the tattoos and the smoking, this boy here is very much present on the inside. 

Zayn’s looks like he’s been to hell and back and when this moment is made fun of and the ‘Where’s Zayn’s?’ jokes come out of the woodwork when he finds the need to disappear, it’s saddening because it seems half of you don’t know Zayn at all.
