I love the Masters of the Universe movie! It's been fun to see all the merchandise that popped up when it came out. I just had to buy these Skeletor popcorn bucket and cup for the Skelection.
Unfortunately, the theater I saw the movie at didn't get any of the merchandise, so I figured I had missed out completely. Thankfully, their online store got the goods in after that weekend, so I bought them right away, even though the addition of having to pay shipping stung a fair bit. It's a good thing I bought them when I did though, because the cup sold out quickly.
Well, speaking of the cup, it looked a little different than advertised. It was shown on the site to include a figure of Skeletor on the lid, which was more rounded on top. The actual lid is flat and has no figure, nor anything to make it look like something was missing. I didn't even notice at first, because I had not seen any pictures from anybody else of the cup with a figure on top. Maybe the early images had a figure, but it was removed by the time the actual produced item released? I don't know. I sent a message to customer support to ask about it. It took them awhile to get back to me, but they apologized for the missing figure, and since it had sold out, they gave me a refund for the cup.
Yay, free Skeletor cup.
Ninjatron Style - RiD 2001 Optimus Prime
From Transformers Robots in Disguise 2001 / Car Robots, it's Super Mode Optimus Prime. Battle Protocol!
The original toy of this this character is still one of my most favorite Transformers toys. I got one from Japan before the Hasbro version was announced. The new version from the Haslab stands proudly on my shelf, but that original from the early 2000s is still such a winner.
This was a complicated piece to draw, but it mostly turned out how I wanted.

Super Cyborg Optimus Prime
I finally got one of these after being after it for quite awhile. It's an 11 inch plastic figure from Super7. As a licensed product, it does not transform.
Why did I want it? I don't know. Aside from a few movable joints, its only major feature is that you can remove the front torso panel to reveal Optimus' robo-innards, which I will not likely ever display uncovered.
I just think it's a cool collectible piece. I found an opened one at a price I could tolerate, and while there are also clear and metallic variants out in the wild, it's getting harder to find a regular version. I already have Megatron and Soundwave (which are still in their boxes for now), so I figured I wanted Optimus to go with them.
There is also a Bumblebee one! Do I want to that one too?

Deluxe MotU Cartoon Collection Figures
Thanks to a recent sale on Mattel Creations, I got a big batch of Masters of the Universe figures recently, with these Deluxe 200X Cartoon Collection figures being among the cooler ones. Here are Clawful, Ram-Man, and Beast Man.
They are HUGE! Compared to the regular figures, these are bigger and each have completely unique body types.
I wasn't intending to get into Cartoon Collection, but I have wound up with quite a few of the figures based on the Filmation show. Now they are doing figures from the 2000s series, my favorite version of MotU, and while I'm picking and choosing for now, I think I will have a lot of them by the time it's all said and done. Deluxe Roboto is starting to trickle out, and Whiplash is on the way too.
As for these 3, I'll open them eventually! I have a backlog.

All of these old computer joysticks looked incredible and fun, and none of them could offer anything even remotely resembling accuracy.
Just trying to control the game was 75% of the challenge.

Ninjatron Style - Magmatron
Magmatron, the evil overlord of Destruction from the Japanese exclusive Beast Wars Neo! Not so obscure anymore though, as he's appeared in recent times, thanks to the awesome Commander class Magmatron in the Transformers Legacy line. That's what I was looking at when I made this art, though obviously, I made my version a lot more Super Deformed. He still looks angry all the time, though!

I got the second batch of Transformers x Masters of the Universe figures, He-Man and Scare Glow, which brings me to the whole set. Will there be more after this? Probably not any time soon, as Mattel is focusing on products to tie in with the MotU movie and has said that they aren't doing more crossovers for awhile, but it's not impossible someday.
Ninjatron Style - Armada Optimus Prime
Optimus Prime, Super mode! I drew Optimus from Transformers Armada in my style, mostly based on the Transformers Legacy Commander class Optimus.
I think it's kind of funny how the gun turned out so small, but I ran out of room on the page so it could only be that size. It's pretty much a super deformed drawing, so I think it works.
The background was my attempt at recreating the design from the packaging of the Armada toy line.

An old picture of Elita-1 from the Transformers War for Cybertron exclusive line and Elita-1 from Power of the Primes.
The PotP Elita is so much bigger and more imposing, so I was thinking of it like “What if Elita-1 got powered up from the Matrix of Leadership?”. In my head, Elita-1′s name after becoming a Prime would be Elita-Thousand.

Remember this handsome guy? My Pet Monster is a legendary part of 1980s pop culture and has been making a bit of a nostalgia fuelled comeback in recent years.
This was fun to draw and I think it works pretty well in my style.
