immediately, Clarke felt her head begin to shake, denying
the apology being sent her way because it was not needed.
Bellamy had absolutely no way of telling the future or being
able to prepare for what had happened, and neither had she.
nobody was to blame for this but the Grounder who had
shot the poisonous arrow in the first place – this was not
Bellamy’s fault and not something she would allow him to
try and apologize for. the hand that was tightly holding his
own gave a reassuring squeeze as she forced her smile up
upon her lips just a little bit m o r e , head still shaking before
she shrugged her shoulders, a sudden overwhelming rush
of emotions hitting her like a WAVE – an onslaught of things
like relief, exhaustion, fear, anger – all came over her at once
and Clarke wasn’t sure which one to place her full attention
on first. instead of battling with a storm of emotional distress
though, she chose to push them aside and finally s p e a k .
❝ Don’t apologize. None of this was your fault. ❞
there was more to that apology though, Clarke was very
aware – leave it to Bellamy to immediately think of the
downfall rather than the strides, but then again, he wasn’t
aware of anything that happened after he had fallen either.
letting out a heavy sigh, the blonde shifts just the slightest
in the chair, ignoring the discomfort and letting the smile
on her face fade away just the slightest bit.
❝ We only lost a few… but other than that,
everyone is okay. The Grounders relented.
We’re all just cleaning up and waiting for
you to get better, now. ❞
