he has loved countless times ... ---- only to lose each and every one. they , hopeless lovers awaiting the return of their significant others , find respite in taking care of the shop , so lovingly left behind by dante. alucard had honored vergil with a promise of loyalty for eternity; he would continue to wait until he rose from the demon world once more. and ... it seems leon chose to do the same for another. such is the reason he's knelt to the ground , chin perched on one knee , petting the creature before him. ❝ yes. ❞ he says so bluntly. ❝ i am able to communicate with wolves and animals of their nature ... ❞ hand , idly scratches the dog's muzzle. ❝ i can sense his displeasure with this food, while with the other ... he seemed more inclined to eat. ❞

it's no surprise he had sought their company when the sun set -- when the dark hours of night would soon suffocate the castle's halls. the night never brought alucard peace , not when creatures would loom with pleased grins ... ---- he remembers their faces all too well. ( for he, too, shared half of their blood ). in the night , remembrance of his curse always takes hold of his thoughts , no matter how human he tried to be. at the very least , he is grateful he does not have to pretend to be one or the other around another who shared a similar ...
