to be closer || yata & ryuuko
The moon was high in the sky when she crept out of her dorm. Senketsu was left hanging on the closet door as he slumbered away. It was actually kind of easy to sneak out of the dorms, and she was outside before she knew it. She breathed a quiet sigh of relief as her eyes turned toward the sky. Stars twinkled above her and she knew sheâd be alone out here. That was what she was hoping for anyway.
She shifted the object sheâd been carrying under her arm, wearing the eiyu uniform for onceâand her old navy and white jacket. It felt kind of weird wearing something other than Senketsu, but sheâd washed and ironed him and let him rest for the evening.
Sheâd prefer to be on her own for something like this anyway.
Ryuuko stalked over the campus, sneaking around whenever possible, and made her way to the shopping plazaâŠand then she finally set down her seemingly precious cargo. A skateboardâa bit beaten up, and kind of looked like it could fall apart at any minute, but she hadnât expected much. Sheâd found it in the secondhand shop a few weeks ago. And since then sheâd been trying to practice but..sheâd only managed to scrape her elbows and face.
It was kind of hard explaining the bandages, but she passed it off as training injuriesâand no one could hear Senketsuâs confusion. She never did this with him on, after all. She sucked in a deep breath and shut her eyes, placing one foot firmly on the board, before shoving off with the other.
She managed a few feet but when she brought her other foot onto the board, sheâd placed too much weight on the back and knocked herself off balance. âShit!â She hissed as she hit the ground, the board clattering behind her.
Well, that would certainly bring anyone who was out and about running, wouldnât it? âTsch..â Ryuuko grimaced, swiping her thumb across her now bleeding lip. Maybe she just wasnât cut out for thisâŠbut dammit, she wanted to surprise him...after all, heâd done so much for her, this was the least she could do to surprise him on his birthday. Still, sheâd made hardly any progress...
