𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 In late January our crew on the Nord Supreme came to the rescue of Florida resident Servon Thomas, in rough North Pacific waters some 90 miles off the coast of Baja California. Servon, 24, who is married and has four young children, had left his sailing boat in a kayak in an attempt to retrieve a pump that had been dropped by parachute by the US Coast Guard. The USCG lost sight of Servon, and as a nearby vessel, the Nord Supreme was asked to help. The Synergy crew managed to locate and rescue this brave kayaker, via the vessel’s starboard gangway and some 400 nm south of San Diego. But the water temperature was just 22 degrees and Servon was hypothermic. His vital signs were continually monitored on board, and in agreement with the USCG the Nord Supreme proceeded at full speed all the way to Long Beach, with Servon’s wife being kept fully informed via satellite about his health and wellbeing. Thankfully Servon has now made a complete recovery, and having thought that he might perish at sea he is extremely grateful to the Synergy crew. Well done to the crew of the Nord Supreme. Your actions almost certainly saved a life and everyone at Synergy is extremely proud of you.
