It seemed it had been forever since he last saw Nasir, though it had only been a couple of weeks. He hated these missions Spartacus sent him on, though he knew they were important. He also disliked the fact that he had to leave Nasir behind. But finally, they had succeeded and were returning, though much fewer in number than they had started. He glanced down at the cloth wrapped around his waist. The deep wound on his stomach was beginning to fester, and he knew it required treatment.

The Syrian had learned at this point not to desperate himself, to try and steady his temper against Spartacus senseless patrols. But this last one, this was too much. Nasir had let his temper flow freely against the rebels' leader. How dared he sent his lover, now father of his child, in a suicidal mission only to investigate? He had punched him, and judging by the man's response, he had been right to.

At last, Nasir caught glimpse of his beloved, entering camp with hand tight to his stomach. Having the baby sleeping, he moved quickly to his side, frown on his brow. "I thank the gods to see you returned, yet wound must be serious if you don't even try to hide it."
