Hatred of religion/church
Some members of the LGBT community are anti-religion, however there are some who are deeply religious. It varies by person
Hatred of heterosexuality
Do all heteros hate homosexuality? No? Point proven. :)
Chances are, if youâre openly LGBT or even sort of seem like you are, you might get teased. However, Iâm pansexual, but I havenât been beaten for it.
Confusion/Attention-seeking
Not all people who identify as LGBT are confused or want attention. Sure there are some people like that, but there are waaaay more who are legitimately LGBT.
Thereâs more than vaginas in a female x female relationship
There are some lesbians who have been hurt by men so badly that they hate men. Itâs a generalization though.
Hatred of Penetration/Male Genitals
Though Bria and Chrissy make tons of jokes about fearing dildos, itâs a JOKE. Once again, some women fear penetration, but chances are, itâs not due to their sexual preference.
Not all lesbians are butch! Of course thereâs the fact that she could be trans, in which case she is a hetero male.
Theyâre super femme/love fashion and makeup
And just because a guy likes clothes doesnât mean heâs gay. Get it together, girlfriend!
Sure the whole MSM (men who have sex with men) group has the highest AIDs rate, but does that mean all gay (or just any homosexual) men have AIDs? No.
They hate *shudders* sports
Not all gay guys hate sports. In fact, as of April 2013, there were 27 pro athletes that were openly gay. That was a year and a half ago guys.
They hate the âfâ word
Not everyone is offended by it, but some are. Please, unless you know the personâs stance, do not use it around them.
âTheyâre the same thing, right?â
Pansexuals generally donât care about gender when it comes to attraction whereas bisexuals are only into the two main/binary genders.
Theyâre promiscuous and unfaithful
Just because we give less fucks about whatâs in your pants doesnât mean weâre gonna hump everything with human genitals.Â
I hear/see more pansexuals with this problem, but there are bi people with this stereotype thrown at them. Itâs just not true, kids.
Theyâre prudes/were sexually assaulted
Just because someone isnât into âgettinâ jiggy with itâ doesnât mean they have without consent. It just means they donât get turned on.
Nope. They just donât get turned on.
They donât get turned on because thatâs how they are. Itâs one thing if they havenât hit puberty yet, but some people just donât get âthe feelsâ.
If they were their biological gender theyâd be homosexual
That isnât necessarily true. Gender, clearly, does not affect sexual or romantic attraction. Some people would just feel more comfortable identifying as the gender opposite of that they were born as.Â
Trans females (Male to Female transgenders) are all drag queen/All drag queens are trans females
The first statement is similar to the whole âfabulousâ gay guy stereotype. Think of it like this for drag queens and trans females: are all (biological) women theatrical? Do they all wear makeup? If you answered yes to either or both of these, itâs time for a reality check. Also, there are some hetero, biological men who are drag queens looking for a little adventure and/or a way to break out of their shell.
But We Canât Forget Our Supporters
Religion, political views, relatives and friends who are LGBT, the media, or some combination contributed to their views.
When I heard about âgaysâ I was probably somewhere in 2nd to 4th grade (8-10 years old). I didnât know I was pansexual. I didnât know my cousin was gay. I didnât know my religion (I was Christian at the time) prohibited homosexuality. I just knew my dad seemed to not like it, but I was confused about that one aspect. I didnât think it was a big deal. I was a supporter, and I didnât even know I wasnât straight. Think about that.
They were confused at one point in time.
Like a lot of other myths about the LGBT community, this just isnât true. Itâs based loosely off of basic observations.
They hate anyone who hates the LGBT community.
Nope. They just disagree. Just because I like pizza doesnât mean anyone who doesnât is my arch nemesis.
