Heya! System here, we've made this blog mostly for lack of other resources, however if we find a better medium we'll likely move it there. The idea is we'll get a character that's system-coded to us (or ones sent to us hopefully one day!) and we'll say how good we think the representation is and add a number of tags so then IF people (or maybe just us in the future LMAO) want to look through for certain characters it'll be easier! Because of tumblr's poor tagging system we'll also indicate if something common is not present for example, Evil Alter Trope! Anyway list of tags for now and examples of what they do:
Canonically Plural, Actually Plural, Kind of Plural, Probably Not Plural, Not Plural
For example, Canonically Plural would be like the Mike System from total drama with canon "Multiple Personality Disorder", Actually Plural would be like Greedling who is like actually two people but isn't pural nessecarily, Kind Of Plural would be like ENA who is like dubious, Probably Not Plural would be like Dirk who as fragmented can be interpreted as plural but doesn't have distinct states, and Not Plural is for characters like Twice or Evil Xisuma who 100% aren't plural but who. give the vibes. make us feel seen.
Evil Alter: No, Evil Alter: Kind Of, Evil Alter: Yes, Evil Alter: Egregious
Whether or not the character fulfills the "Evil Alter" trope. Obvious except like egregious would be distinguished by mal whose just an evil alter but in a show where many characters are also just evil people vs like greed in greedling whose literally a deadly sin. like the being plural itself is evil.
Erase The System: No, Erase The System: Integrated, Erase The System: Kind of, Erase The System: Yes
Whether or not the system hood is removed by the end of the story.
System origins: Traumatic, System origins: Unspecified, System origins: Non-Traumatic, System origins: Possession, System Origins: Fusion
System origins. Where alters appear to originate. This may widely be speculation, so I'll append "implied" or "explicit" for that.
System structure: Parts Of Brain, System structure: Emotions, System structure: Personalities, System structure: Identities, System structure: People
System structure. This is to distinguish series by whether alters are different parts of a mind (e.g. left brain, right brain), different emotions, different personalities (they act different with no difference in preferences/identity), different identities (they act different and have an individual sense of identity), different people (they act differently, have separate memories and separate senses of identity).
One Dimensional Alters: No, One Dimensional Alters: Kind Of, One Dimensional Alters: Yes, One Dimensional Alters: Egregious
Whether or not alters are only defined by one trait/ dehumanised.
Internalised Abelism: None, Internalised Abelism: Somewhat, Internalised Abelism: Yes
Whether or not the system/alters express internalised abelism about their systemhood.
Ableism Rating: Great, Ableism Rating: Good, Ableism Rating: Okay, Ableism Rating: Bad, Ableism Rating: Egregious
How good i think the rep is. This mostly only applies for characters that are rated above Kind Of Plural because you can't really rate how well evil xisuma represents DID.
Enjoyable: Yes, Enjoyable: Kind of, Enjoyable: No
Whether or not we enjoyed the character, regardless of how good the representation was. To Do: - Omori - "Genocide Jack" (what???) - that one dangenrompa bear - Bipper (maybe) - Evil Xisuma (Maybe) - Parasyte - That one chipmunk - Good cop Bad cop - That one plural AA character - .... split........ - Malevolent - The Thinktank
- Moon Knight
