OMGÂ
Things that I knew about: that the mass incarceration of people in the USA , particularly black men, has direct ties to/is an extension of slavery. Things I did not know: this specific shit about Louisiana HOLY FUCK this is evil.
OH MY GOSH????
When activist Sam Sinyangwe was awaiting a meeting with the governorâs office at the Louisiana state capitol building in Baton Rouge, he not
The 13th Amendment provides a loophole that allows for the legality of unpaid prison labor, which is sometimes called "modern-day slavery."
Grew up next to Angola. Itâs much worse than you think
I wonder how many people are imprisoned for weed
Iâm from Mississippi and itâs like this in my home town. Enslaved prisoners clean roadways, pick cotton, everything theyâve done since before slavery was supposedly ended. What they teach in schools is nothing but propaganda.

hero girls are a kind of prey animal, which is cute.
this is simply not true
ok. um. well. if you're not a prey animal, then you should hold still and stop dodging my beam attacks?
keeps dodging touhou style
gets annoyed and does a really hard to dodge special move that has lots of fast moving sections and honestly isn't very well signposted at times plus it's a little long and drags too
bomb
literally just does the same exact attack again
hey.. cmon.. let me have this one
why are there two now. i will defeat both of you
only one of us you need to focus on. ignore the other one it doesnt matter pay attention to me
I never really wanted to get into this on here but I want to talk about it now so nobody can stop me.
honestly one of the worst things is that I knew. a lot of people talk about not knowing they were trans until xyz event where they realized and went through whatever hardships and then transitioned. people talk about repression and discovery and all these things. and those are all powerful and important experiences I don't see myself as above them in any way. but I knew.
I was never an egg, I was never in denial. when I was 3 years old I dreamed I was a princess. I know this because my family retells it as a funny story. I tried to wear my sister's clothes regularly, I asked people why there wasn't a word for the reverse of a tomboy, I put on makeup, I used she/her pronouns online since I first learned to read and write.
I don't bring this up to do this "I've always been a woman deep down, so you should listen to me as super valid Mr psychologist gatekeeper". my point is that it didn't matter.
I knew, and it didn't matter. it wasn't an issue of having to figure out who I was and then realizing that. it's that who I am was intentionally killed and locked away at every turn. it's not that I didn't realize I was a girl, it's that I wasn't allowed to be one. I was hurt and punished and sent to conversion therapy repeatedly. I can't "go back in time and tell my younger self to save her years of struggle". it wouldn't matter. it wouldn't change anything at all. the issue wasn't a lack of information. it's a lack of power. kids and trans kids especially are subject to so much abuse and we have no power to do anything about it. it is such a great tragedy beyond words. knowing what you want to do and wear and say and be, that you want this name and these pronouns and that cute dress, and being powerless to do anything about it anyway. forced to wear clothes picked out for you by a guardian, only able to use pre-approved nicknames online. only allowed to engage in these specific hobbies and have these specific friends. all of whom treat you like garbage. but it doesn't matter. it doesn't even matter if you know it's unjust, there's no way to do anything about it. it is perhaps the most powerless position anyone can be in. there is no level of knowledge or personal strength that will get you out of it. you just have to shut off until enough time passes for the law to deem you as worthy of being a person.
I think that's a big part of why I'm like this now, once you see that powerlessness, when you experience the depths of hopelessness and disenfranchisement, you can never unsee it. it does something to you
it's easier to think that I did something wrong. that if I were smarter or stronger or cleverer I could've figured it out. and that when I did get out of that place, that it was due to my strength. but the reality is it wasn't. none of it was my fault, and that's almost harder to handle. there's no amount of trial or belief or hope or self knowledge that can magically warp the world to be kind to you. when I got away it's because I was a legal adult. that's it, that's all that changed. the only thing holding me back that entire time
Lionel Messi has quietly built relationships with companies and security firms closely linked to Israel's military-intelligence establishmen
As the worldâs foremost football star, Lionel Messi is understandably protective of his image. The Argentinian forward carefully picks and chooses whom he is associated with, and has signed lucrative long-term deals with enormous global brands, such as Adidas, Pepsi, and Mastercard. That is why many were surprised when, in 2020, he announced a partnership with OrCam, a relatively small Israeli A.I. firm that makes wearable artificial vision devices (similar to Google Glass). OrCam markets itself as helping visually impaired people live more fulfilling lives. Messi became its global brand ambassador and the face of the company.
[...]
The Argentinian has made multiple visits to Israel during his career. In 2013, he and his club, F.C. Barcelona, went to Israel and Palestine on a supposed âPeace Tour.â During his trip, he met and talked with Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres, and glad-handed with IDF soldiers. He also donned a yarmulke and visited the Western Wall, the holiest site in Judaism. Even after leaving, however, Messi takes a small part of Israel with him everywhere he goes. His security is handled by an elite force of former Israeli agents, who plan his every move, especially internationally. He takes his security very seriously, even missing his sister-in-lawâs wedding in Argentina due to safety concerns. Those same Israeli forces were in charge of security at his own 2017 wedding, ESPN reports, although it did not detail whether those agents are from the Mossad, Shin Bet, or an elite commando group.
This is BS that has been debunked a million times. Messi and the Argentina NT refused to play against Israel and Messi went to Israel in a peace tour where he visited Palestine too. Get all the facts from reliable sources, not from sketchy opinion pieces.
So you are ignoring the fact that he invested a lot of money in Israel-linked startups and has former IOF vets in his security team. Gotcha, you're a zionist too.
Not to mention that his visit to Occupied Palestine is hosted by Zionist settlers and Israel. You're a zionist and I don't argue with zionists.
Conflating a paid endorsement deal for an accessibility device with "investing money" is factually incorrect, and claiming bodyguards hired from a private agency reflect an athlete's personal political ideology is an association fallacy. Pointing out real context doesn't make someone a Zionist, it just means they prefer facts over sensationalism.
âOn top of that, MintPress News (and specifically writer Alan MacLeod) frequently uses this narrative strategy: taking baseline factsâlike standard private security hires or tech founders having mandatory military service in Unit 8200âand weaving them into sensationalized claims of state or intelligence ties to target public figures, media outlets, and tech platforms.
Not only that you're a zionist but you're also an idiot.
Guy who refuses to play against Israel has no issue taking a photo op with a genocidal war criminal
I need more Alice in armor

The pathologization of anger needs to be talked about. What do you mean my therapist is telling me that thereâs something âchemically wrongâ with me because I am still angry about my mom DYING OF COVID.
of course Iâm still angry? My mom and 1.3 million other Americans are dead and you want me to shoot sunshine out of my ass about it?
âBut Itâs been 3 years since she died, you have complex griefâ yeah and she was on a ventilator for 11 days and she kept writing âI am scaredâ and âI donât want to dieâ on a notepad over and over again. While you were still going out unmasked and unvaccinated and coughing all over each other, I was living a nightmare I couldnât fucking wake up from. And every single day Iâm reminded of it in the form of âhaha wasnât the pandemic such a wacky time hahaâ and âIâm not getting a booster you canât make me đ€Ș (nobody asked)â and âitâs not real they made the numbers up!!!â
âYouâre not copingâ Ok hereâs the deal; Iâll stop feeling this anger when we have a national memorial (we donât) or a cdc equipped to stop it from happening again (we donât) or a population that takes a deadly disease seriously BEFORE it effects them personally (WE DONâT!)
until then, Iâm pretty sure my anger is A COMPLETELY NORMAL HUMAN REACTION given the facts at hand

"posting good past 4am" isn't real either that's just sleep deprivation temporarily suppressing the effects of depression (meta-studies find this works in 50.4% of subjects with relapse rate absurdly high)
