Doggy Snow Angels
Winter wonderland in Boston! Hallelujah!
Hawk enjoys working with me in my outdoor classes. She gets to help other dogs let go of their worries about other dogs. She makes new friends weekly!
Living up to her namesake and just watching the tennis guy swing his racket off in the distance. While out on walks, I frequently stop and sit to allow my dog to relax and just watch the world go by. There’s no need to be constantly on the move. Dogs need to have ample opportunity to gather information about the world they live in. You will never go wrong slowing down. Try it and you might like this new habit! You might even see a difference in your dog’s overall behavioral presentation.
Does your dog have at least one #bestdogfriend? I sure hope so! That's my commitment to my dogs.
Deaf dogs are smart dogs!
Missy Hawk is sooooooo glad to be done with her bath!
Hawk is NOT indulging his #puppy antics - after all, she's about to turn six and she knows a thing or two about a thing or two. 🦅🐶🐾
Doggy Parkour, anyone? Hawk is loving it! Like many ideas and activities in the world of dog training, this is something I’ve been doing for forever and did not have a name to put to it. A big shout out and thanks to those folks at Doggy Parkour International!
What is doggy parkour? Let’s begin with parkour… it is the acrobatic and athletic endeavor that fitness enthusiasts are now doing in mostly urban settings. They are jumping up on and off stone walls, fence posts, rooftops and whatever obstacles just happen to be available. No need for a gym membership. Use what you have and do it now! It looks like martial arts movie stunts. Doggy parkour is exactly the same thing. Some folks call it urban agility. Of course, it doesn’t really matter what you call it.
Why doggy parkour? It is always important to take advantage of opportunity. Spice up your walks with your dog by suddenly giving her direction to jump up on things and into, through and around and over whatever is available. It’s a great way to work on training through distractions and getting and maintaining your dog’s attention – especially when they are overwhelmed by the world around them.
Hawk is loving it! If you are so inclined to check us out on Instagram, you’ll find us at Hawk The Deaf Dog!
Best pals doing yet another down stay...
Hawk is loving the Coolaroo dog bed
Now she's resting after a little #agilityfun! It's been a while since we've had the #chute as a #practiceobstacle. First #agilityforfunclass tomorrow with a few of her #herdingdog #pals.
Hawk is more than a little bit of a flight risk. Recently, I've been letting her drag her leash in low distraction areas to allow some freedom and to teach her to turn to look for me. Of course, the leash is helpful should I need to grab her quickly. I'm so not fast anymore! 😳
Hawk loves our Socialization Adventures! As often as possible, I take her to new parks to mix up the routine. Dogs always appreciate new sniffs. 🐶🐾🐈
This was her fifth 'dog angel' in a row at Angel View Pet Cemetery today.
Who’s the nosiest dog I know? My girl…always watching like her namesake.
Hawk makes the best #snowangels!
