does anyone else also have a designated writing song that they listen to?

i find that most music thats on my normal playlist highly affects my mood so instead i try to listen to something that has a wide variety of emotion. usually the song has to lean towards feelings of sadness while not being so overbearing that makes me rush (avoiding high tempos or anything mitski). at first it was thinking of you by katy perry back when it was still trending on tt but now ive moved on and now its pas de deux by tchaikovsky. pls tell me there are other people with weird writing music 😭

sometimes i feel like life is a constant loop of desiring your grandparents's recipes only to realize how much power you have to cook without it. it comes to you one day as you heat up a microwaveable meal.

"huh. i could do this myself."

you spend a long time building up the skill from nothing. you serve it to the people you love the most. you bake cookies for your friends, bring your special baked pastas to potlucks, and find joy in delivering.

then one day, a friend grabs the plate you cooked them, spits in it, and sends it back you. actually, they don't even spit in it. they comment that your pasta is a bit underdone, that your cookies are too hard. some laugh, some agree. others object saying your cooking is just right.

but you stop delivering. you stop cooking for your friends and family. you buy cheap meals over home cooking, and you hesitate when going out. and when you're alone in the kitchen watching the glass plate spin, you miss your grandparents's recipes. you spend a long time dwelling on how truly awful you were, diminishing yourself to nothing.

then one day, while your microwaving yourself frozen taquitos, you think to yourself:

"huh. i could do this myself."

and then the cycle continues
