“Oh, you’re one those broke homeless guys that live on the street, huuuh?” His tone was childish but mocking in the same way. He spun the hat in his hands before placing it on his head. Somewhere along the lines, the spare change disappeared. “That’s kinda sad.”

He’d be lying if he said he didn’t know how it felt. Maybe not specifically to her of course but the feeling of losing a piece of yourself. They had taken his away and banished him. He was troublesome, greedy, and selfish but not bad or cruel or even abusive. Regardless, they ripped the ones who refused away from him. It hurt and that emptiness would never fade but he never held onto the past for long.
“What’cha think he wants you to do? This Kuzou guy or whatever, right?” He landed softly on the ground before walking over. “If he wants ya to cry, he’s a pretty miserable soul if you ask me. Not worth crying about then.”

Lost. Those emotions swirled around and around her mind, causing her stomach to churn and battered form to tremble. Maemi could hardly find strength enough to draw shuddering breaths… yet, still one hand shifted, searching for the familiar touch of her regalia’s arm. He had to be there. He had to tell her it was all a nightmare… Flash her that smart-ass grin and tell her that he was fine!}
“Kazuo?!”
{The first sob shook through Maemi’s chest, deeper and more painful than any wound she’d felt before. And she slumped back into the dirt as her body convulsed and broken cries ripped from her lips.}
“KAZUO!”
His monkey tail curled and uncurled below the branch he was perched on. He would have acted sooner but there was not much he could do about the situation at hand. He was without a weapon himself - though not defenseless. The sound was heartbreaking. He wasn’t a god of despair or logic.
“Shouting his name isn’t going to do you any good.” He swung down, grabbing the branch with his tail. “He’s gone...”
