I don’t know if this was done one purpose, but the painting you can see on the ceiling is a scene from the bible :

It’s either Jesus Crhist being stab by the longinus (you can see the lance and the “roman soldier” on the right and the guy who is laying seems to be crucified) or the calice being fulled with the blood of Jesus like in this painting (didn’t find one with the blood being collected)

But the question is : why is there a biblical scene painted on the tribunal ceiling in SNK as there is no more christian religion ? This may be a proof that Shingeki no kyojin is happening in the future, or maybe the animators just choose some random painting…
