and so marks the end of another year. this year has been...

...a year of a firsts...

first time making honour roll since high school. first job. first paycheque. first time having money i can truly call my own. first real splurge. first sip of alcohol EVER.

...a year of "what have i gotten myself into"...

i still don't know how i found myself in a 16 month internship or how i ended up in engineering to begin with.

...a year of "i wish i were prettier" or "i wish i had friends"...

but i guess i can say this about every year since i was a kid

...a year of sadness...

it's never easy when someone in the family passes away, especially with my mom's family (shit really did hit the fan before/after the funeral, it wasn't pretty)

...but as 2013 comes to a close and 2014 draws nearer, i can look back and appreciate all of my "firsts" because they're called firsts for a reason. i'm never going to experience a FIRST paycheque ever again.

and really, i was happy this year and i have no right to complain about anything. i mean i have a job, spending money, my parents, electricity and wi fi (this is most important considering our power was out for almost 3 days)

since there's less than 10 minutes left of 2013...

i hope everyone had a fantastic 2013 and that you'll all have an even more fantastic 2014.

so i got my supervisor a gift and we didn't have any wrapping paper...so i improvised and used the paper bag it came in and some of my old copic markers to decorate. this took me so much longer than i am willing to admit.

I'm really sorry about the lack of activity going on here. i recently got a new laptop and i'm still in the process of transferring all my files and re-installing all my programs/apps.

so please bear with me while i get my new macbook set up. and my power went out as a result of this weekends massive ice storm in toronto, which doesn't help either. i've had no power since 1am sunday, and we don't really know when our power will come back on (hopefully tonight **fingers crossed**)
