I’ll take your word, though. He was always kind to me, too, even though the other brothers spurned me at first.

He’s tired. If you showed him compassion, I have a hard time thinking he was anything but grateful. I’ll check if you like.

No, but it will help him in other ways. He’ll remember that you are supposed to be partners, that he can depend on you to be there for him as he is there for you. He chose to shoulder the entire burden to protect you. He has to know your bond is strong enough to allow him to share his pain.
