Loved the fish intro and the Caine recap. It was awesome. I hope it gets archived somewhere, 'twas fun.
I love Ribbit. I was totally caught off guard by the mention of her parents being Mormon though (and thus Ribbit being ex-Mormon), as an LDS girlie myself (surprise?). She's super sweet and I love her and I feel oh so bad for her because the Ribbit montage hurt. I wish she'd gotten some epilogue or an IRL design. I hope to see some good happy fanfics with her soon.
Then there's Jax. As someone who's hated him since the first episode, this episode did make me like him. Or her? I quite understand the transfem Jax theory now.
I don't know whether to ship Jax and Ribbit or not. They seem very shippable in an alternate timeline where Jax doesn't ditch her after their conversation. Whether or not it's romantic, let them be happy together :(
I think Goose poured a lot of herself into Jax, as a bit of a self-insert even. It's not too uncommon among authors and creators to do that. I think she once said she related most to him out of the cast, and I think I get why now.
As much as I wish Jax had been saved, I'm not sure if he was ready for that. I like the abstraction aquarium, it gives lots of hope for the future :)
He's still annoying. But in a "bad but sad" kinda way. If only he'd gotten a redemption arc... I guess that's what fanfics are for! If there are any happy ending fics for Jax, someone let me know please.
I might've cried during Jax and Ribbit's heart-to-heart and the "Isn't She Lovely?" montage. Got hit in the feels fr.
Holy crap the IRL designs. I didn't know whether to expect seeing the cast outside the circus, but it was done oh so well. I swear I've seen those exact people drawn before in people's headcanon designs. And Kinger is a certified girl dad both IRL and in the circus, as he has been being a father figure to Pomni and Ragatha especially. I'm a sucker for the found family parents, gotta be one of my favorite tropes. I need a motivational talk from Kinger.
Ms. "there won't be any ships" Gooseworx giving us Abstragedy in the end. All the little handholding and stuff was very sweet. I don't know how they figured it out nor do I want to know, but good for them.
There's also Caine. Honestly an amazing redemption. He fixed what he could and humbly offered his apology. He accepted that the people he hurt would take time to forgive him, but they would try. He let them come to him in their own time instead of just snapping them wherever. I was so ready to cheer on his death as a certified hater, but his redemption was beautiful so I sit corrected.
Pomni has been one of my favorite main characters ever. As someone who keeps winding up in leadership roles, I like how she's learned to rely on the people around her. I feel like a bit more could have been done with that motif of teamwork, but it worked nonetheless.
Rip Kaufmo, I thought he'd be way more plot significant. But I think he was still handled well and I liked the flashbacks that told us a bit about him.
Also Bubble is definitely Abel then, right? I'm not sure if I caught that correctly.
Anyways,
Overall, it was very heartfelt. Despite the incredibly cartoony designs, I seriously got hit in the feels. The voice acting was incredible, everyone's rent was DUE. It was a beautiful ending to a beautiful show, and it turned out incredibly sweet and heartfelt. I could feel the passion for the story being told in every aspect. It's a show I will definitely revisit.

- one one hand i wish we had more musical numbers, but this being the only one really helps emphasize caine's panic. like bro is so freaked out he started switching genres. and what a peak genre it is. the crew's sparkly outfits were impeccable
- loved caine's crashout, 10/10. gorgeously, horrifyingly animated. so very cool. storytelling goals.
- all the callbacks to previous episodes, loved them
- i am feeling inspired and excited and i can't wait (i will wait excitedly and respectfully) for the next episode

I tried to base each of them around a specific biome (including the other worlds). Fred is the Deep Dark, Romeo is the Nether, and Xara is the End. I headcanon that those were their own creations (except the Deep Dark things were a lot different when Fred made it. Romeo imprisoned Fred's creations in their own layer right below the overworld, so the Deep Dark was revealed upon Romeo losing his powers). Binta is like a daughter to Fred, Jean the Ender Dragon is like a daughter to Xara (I don't imagine she took it too well when she discovered that Soren poofed the Ender Dragon. Perhaps Romeo told her personally, just to gloat). Fred is dressed for practicality (plus a cape), Romeo is dressed for battle, and Xara is dressed for research. Fred has the horns and tail of a goat, Romeo has the horns and tail of a devil (I guess?), and Xara has the horns and tail of a dragon. Definitely took a lot of creative liberties based on their skins lol
I can't believe my fantribe idea from like 5 years ago where there's an island of outcasted dragons from all tribes that winds up with a lot of hybrids turned out to be pretty spot on
Only major difference is that the GlitchWings were outcast due to their strange virus and the Isle is Australia. Apparently the desire to send your prisoners there is universal
I kept thinking of AURORA whenever Aurora was mentioned, I wonder if there was any inspiration taken. Ethereal voice, IceWing, etc

I did this Petra sketch like a few months ago and completely forgot to post it. Her wither arc has been so fascinating to me as I've navigated my endometriosis this past year, because it's weirdly relatable. Especially this quote lol
