Hyo Jin smiled as Taeyeon complimented her work. “Yes, I took every single picture that is in this room. Some people are models I have worked with. Some of them are friends. I really do enjoy photography. Seeing people smile because of my work is the best feeling ever. I am glad you enjoyed my work” she said with a smile. She let her fingers gently go over a few of the pictures. Her eyes fell on her polaroid, which was placed on her desk. She walked over and picked it up. Without saying a word, she positioned the camera and took a picture of Taeyeon admiring the pictures. 

“This came out really nicely” Hyo said, as the photo finished processing. She held it up for Taeyeon to see. “A new memory is now made” she said, as she punched a hole at the top, and hung it on the ceiling. “Perfect” she whispered as she examined the photo. Taeyeon was very photogenic. 

“The camera captures your features really well” Hyo said, turning around. “Have you ever though about modeling?”

Taeyeon's eyes widen by the sound of a shutter and she whipped her head toward the person with the polariod. "Hey!" She chuckled, peering over the taken photo. "You could have warn me before!" As Hyojin placed the recently taken photo on the thin string, Taeyeon was taken off just slightly.

"Me? Model?" She placed her hand above her head and shook it.. "Have you not seen my height? Those guys are like giant compared to me." She laughed, leaning against the wall. "It'd be great, you know. Being the center of the spotlight. But let's be realistic. Don't models has to be super skinny and tall?"

Feeling like a weight was lifted from his shoulders, Baekhyun sagged back into his seat in relief, a soft smile painting his features. Nodding, he hummed in approval at Taeyeon’s words and remarks about education being incredibly important—and laughed despite himself at her own joke. “It is boring, I think the amount of brain cells I lost due to facedesking is indescribable. Aish, my poor brain.” Laughing comfortably, he grinned cheekily at her, feeling light as air. 

This was what their friendship turned out to be. Of course, there were temptations of stepping the friend barrier and becoming more than that, but Baekhyun was a careful young man. He didn’t like to take risky chances, even if his surroundings are full of dangers and risks taken every moment. For Taeyeon, though, Baekhyun was sure that he wanted to take things easily, simply, and slow. Besides, through all his thinking, she might not even like him like that. The thought made his stomach churn slightly.

Blinking softly in confusion for a moment, the question knocking him a bit overboard, Baekhyun was honestly blank for a good few seconds. He almost didn’t remember his birthday. “Huh? Oh, it passed—May 6th, noona.” Smiling despite himself, that sparked his attention. “But isn’t your birthday closer? March, right? Why don’t we switch the roles, we’ll celebrate yours first.”

"Shoot." Taeyeon scowled. "It passed already. I'm so sorry I couldn't celebrate it with you, Hyunnie. I'll make it up to you, I promise! What would you like? Extra sketchbooks? Cologne? Underwear?" Snickering, she put it aside as Baekhyun suggested to starts with hers first.

"Mine?" Taeyeon blinked. "You know, I'm pretty selfish with presents and cake. I love big, exaggerated party with pretty cakes, the size of a wedding cake!" She made a circle motion with her hands as she described the cake. "And presents! Definitely presents! It has be super-expensive and gorgeous with diamonds and rubies and sapphires!" Giggling, she shook her head. "I'm just kidding, Hyunnie. I actually don't like those kinds of birthday parties. I think I preferred a small one. Like a few friends and thoughtful presents and adorable cake. Small one, obviously." She stared at Baekhyun and smiled. "You're invited, of course! I need my favorite person to be there."

Being with Baekhyun is so comfortable and easy to talk with. She does have friends at the place she works at but they were either secretive or backstabbing. Rumors spread like wildfire and she's tired of trying to cover it up. Which she always failed to. Her feelings toward Baekhyun has developed into something much more than just friends. Sometime, one of those days, she'll look at her dongsaeng and sees a man instead of a younger brother. She'll try to calm down her beating heart and composed herself but she couldn't help but have a faint blush creeping up her cheeks.

Clearing her throat, Taeyeon fumbled with the table's cloth. "How is your life lately? And I don't mean the school life. Found yourself a girlfriend? What about a job? Are you doing okay, financially?"

Hyo Jin’s smile stiffened as the house tour was mentioned. She froze as she thought about all of Narsha’s clothes and belongings. Her eyes slowly looked into her shoe closet, scanning to make sure none of her clubbing heels were visible. Hyo knew that most of Narsha’s belongings were generally stuffed near the back of her closets and drawers, but even then, she couldn’t be one hundred percent sure. 

“Y-yeah, tour” Hyo said as she took of her shoes and carefully placed them inside her closet. She brought out two pairs of slippers and placed one in front of Taeyeon’s feet as she slipped her own on. She took in a deep breath as she relaxed herself, and then straightened her back to look at Taeyeon. 

“Well, so right when you step in, you see my pretty plain kitchen” Hyo said, walking in. She grabbed a glass from the cupboard and filled it with water, before handing it to Taeyeon. “And then here is the living room. Again, nothing special” she said. She didn’t want to go into every nook and cranny of her home. She carefully opened the door to her room. Narsha’s room. 

“And this is my bedroom. But even this room isn’t where I hang out the most. I don’t even sleep here often” Hyo said with a small chuckle. “I usually end up falling asleep in there” she said, pointing to the door at the end of the small hallway. She quickly shut the door to her bedroom. She was excited to show Taeyeon her own special room. 

Hyo opened the door with a big smile on her face. She was greeted once again by the baby blue walls which were covered in polaroid pictures she had taken at various photoshoots. The desk leaning against the wall was covered in pictures that were yet to find a place on the wall. Stings were hanging from the ceiling, in hopes of having pictures attached to them. 

“This is my room. My photo room. My memory room” was all Hyo could say as she admired it for the millionth time.

After the brief introduction of Hyojin's relatively small apartment, Taeyeon had caught a shimmery black dress lying on the messy bed before her host had closed the door. Shrugging, she put it aside as Hyojin lead her to another room. The way she walked toward the closed door were of excitement and joy. Amused, she watched her opened the door and gaped as soft blue color swallowed both girls in. Countless pictures were posted up; some were professional, some were sweet, and some were funny.

Taeyeon let out a long exclamation as she goes through pictures and pictures. "They're so pretty, Hyojin-ssi. Did you do this?" Taeyeon asked, examining a soft-colored background with a smiling girl.

"Who are all these girls? And boys too." She asked. "Are they your models?" She looked at Hyojin and smiled. "They're really beautiful! You have lots of talents, Hyojin-ssi. Surely, you must loved your job!"

Reminiscence || Taeyeon & Jiyong

“it’s open,” he shouted from his seat at the kitchen table, listlessly flipping through the mail which consists of nothing but bills.  inwardly, he was raging with an anxiety which distracted him from the task at hand.  glancing over at his damp clothes hanging over the railing nearby, he followed taeyeon with his eyes, face void of apparent emotion.  only his jaw switched occasionally in suppressed aggravation, as he motioned for her to sit down across from him.

“did you hurry home as fast as you could?” he said after a few moments of discomforting silence.  tensely, he nodded at her response.  ”sorry, i worry about you, love.  it’s not safe out there… you know.”

sighing, he brushed his wet bangs from his eyes and bit his lip.  with this action, a few spare droplets of red fluid splattered upon the table before them, flinging from the ends of his unwashed hair.  jiyong’s eyes widened; his irises darted from the blood caked and streaked on his free hand to taeyeon’s face, over and over- how could he be so stupid?  now, he was caught.

“l- look,” he stuttered, “i can explain, and-“

he couldn’t have lied, for there was no injury allowing him to claim the blood as his own.  jiyong had carelessly slipped into the same habits, old patterns, and now it was going to be the death of him.

“i’m sorry, jagi,” he muttered, averting his eyes.  ”try to understand…”

Cracking the door slightly, she could see Jiyong sitting on the chair in the kitchen. Looking irritated, he motioned toward Taeyeon to sit across him. Wordlessly, she did and quietly she sat down, the chair screeching against the cool tiles.

His words were cold and rushed and Taeyeon slightly flinched. "I tried to. Traffic were terrible." She watches him nodded his head stiffly, his eyes still locked on hers. "Don't worry, yeobo, I can protect myself. I'm not dainty, you know that." She rolled her eyes and softly smiled at him. Glancing at his mails, the bold letters clearly said of bills and professional descriptions. Now she understood why he was so tense and angry. Perhaps not the whole reason but the recent pilings of taxes and bills seems to anger Jiyong. Well, at first she had thought of that. Until Jiyong brushed his hair aside and droplets of ruby-red drops landed across the table.

Taeyeon widened her eyes. Blood. "What happened!?" She waited for him to explain but only stutter came out. Then finally, he sighed and averted his eyes away from her. I'm sorry, jagi, his words echoed through her mind. Try to understand. She slammed her hands against the table and stood up, making the chair screeched uncomfortable sounds. "You always say that, Jiyong! How many time did I've told you not to pick a fight or murder someone? What if you gotten hurt? What if that person has some gangs to back him up?" She touched her forehead as an headache started to come slowly. "Why again, yeobo?" Tired, she sat down the chair and lean against it. Closing her eyes, she waited for his reply.

Hyo Jin let the warmth of Taeyeon’s hand slowly seep into her own hand. She smiled and let her eyes sparkle with joy.

“Yes, company is something my house has lacked for quite some time” Hyo said, brushing her hair away from her face. She let out a small chuckle. “Well, I guess my food is edible. I don’t know what you will think of it” she said, scratching the bridge of her nose once again. Hyo Jin was slightly taken aback as the horrid image flashed in her head. 

“Hmmm, well, I like horror movies, but not gory ones. Narsha likes gory ones” Hyo Jin said as she pursed her lips together. She checked her watch. “Well, if we have time, maybe I can put on a movie after dinner! Let’s go!” 

Hyo tugged at Taeyeon’s hand and led her to her car. “Hold on one second. I have my camera and some other stuff on the passenger seat. Lemme just move that with to the back with the rest of the stuff” she said. She opened the door and moved all the things to the back. “Okay done” she said, clasping her hands together. She walked over to the driver’s seat and sat down, starting the car. 

“Sorry my car is so messy” Hyo said as she started to drive towards her home. “With every photoshoot I do, I have to bring all of these things with me. And I do photoshoots so often” she said, sighing as she looked into the rear view mirror to stare at the pile of equipment. 

Shortly after, they arrived at Hyo Jin’s apartment complex. “Well, this is where I live” Hyo said, parking the car. They both walked into the building, and Hyo smiled at the lobby manager as he bowed. She could tell he was shocked to see her come home with company rather than coming home at 3 AM drunk. 

She walked to her apartment and unlocked the door. “My home is nothing fancy, but I welcome you” she said, opening it for Taeyeon.

Grinning and clapping her hands like a little girl, Taeyeon beamed when Hyojin said she also liked horror movies. "I love them! Except for bloody one. They just don't make sense and lately, they're so overrated." She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Saw, Final Destination, blah, blah, blah." 

Sitting in Hyojin's car made Taeyeon felt warm and safe. The scent inside the car, the same sweet smell emitting from the other woman, overwhelmed her and Taeyeon smiled a bit. Hearing from Hyojin's mouth that she is working as a photographer made her gaped. Taeyeon loved photographs and its beautiful works but ever since she had joined as a bartender, she had no time. Serve at night, sleep at lunch, and covers at evening. It's always works, sleep, works, sleep, etc, etc. Barely any time for herself or with him. Taeyeon mentally sighed and turned her head toward Hyojin.

Soon, they had arrived at parking lot and Taeyeon climbed out of the car. "I think working as a photographer is amazing. I mean, they bring out the model or the scenery's best and capture the right moment. I can't even take a decent picture of myself without looking terrible or have the hair in my face." Taeyeon laughed as they entered the lobby. Oblivious to the lobby manager's reaction, Taeyeon looked around the lobby and followed Hyojin like a lost puppy.

A click were heard and her host has opened the door for her. Murmuring a thank you, Taeyeon entered and respectively took off her shoes. With a grin, she looked at Hyojin through her eyelashes, her hands still zippering her low-heels sandals. "Tour time?"

Hyo Jin nodded. “I can not guarantee that she will, but I will surely mention you to her when we meet” she said. She turned around and headed for her car, but suddenly stopped after taking only a few steps. She turned around on the heel of her shoes and watched Taeyeon walking away from her. Something in her mind told Hyo to stop her. As if something important was slipping away from her hands like sand. 

Without thinking, Hyo walked after Taeyeon. Once she caught up to her, she gently tapped her shoulder and waited until she turned around. Once their eyes met, Hyo quickly looked down at her shoes and scratched the bridge of her nose. 

“Well, maybe we can extend this meeting of ours. Would you like to come to my place for dinner?” she asked hesitantly. 

Hyo realized how risky this was after she let the words slip through her lips. Dinner happened at night, and Hyo did not exist at night. There was no Hyo Jin after 8 PM. But for some reason, she did not care. She wanted to have dinner with someone, something she had not done for a while. 

Hyo looked back up at Taeyeon with expecting eyes.

Taeyeon tensed when she felt someone tapping on her shoulder. Turning around, to her surprised, it was Hyojin, who has just said she will be leaving. Raising her eyebrows, she smiled but faltered a bit when she watched the woman lowered her head and nervously scratched her nose. She thought she would be saying something different, like mean or tasteless to Taeyeon but no. It wasn't. Taeyeon's eyes widen when she has invited her over for dinner but nevertheless accepted the kind invitation.

"Sure, if you don't mind." Taeyeon chimed, "I haven't eaten a decent meal for a long time, much less with someone else!" She gently grasped Hyojin's hand and gave it a squeeze. "Thank you for inviting me."

Taeyeon looked at Hyojin and tilted her head. "Are you a good cooker? Will I choke on your food and die and you'll probably chop up my body into pieces and feed it to wild animals?" She chuckled while waving her hand dismissively. "Sorry, I've watched too many horror movies. Do you like horror movies? Or any kinds?" She looked at the other woman's eyes and waited for her reply.

Hyo Jin quickly wiped her sweaty hands before shaking Taeyeon’s. “It’s nice to meet you too” she said with an eye smile. Hyo let the tips of her fingers go up to her own cheek and tap them. “Yes, we are identical. But only on the outside” she continued, letting her palms turn moist again. She did not know why, but lying suddenly became difficult. Her whole life was a lie, why was this so hard all of a sudden? Hyo exhaled and let her posture slouch a little bit.

“Ah, I see. At a bar I suppose. A bar or a bedroom, those two places are the only places one can ever find her” Hyo said with a light chuckle. She suppressed Narsha’s smirk and looked at the ground beneath her feet. “Always in a tight dress, heavy makeup, always seducing guys…or girls” Hyo continued, shaking her head. “There is no way one could say our actions are similar” 

Hyo looked back at Taeyeon. “Well, it seems to be getting dark, and the bugs are starting to come out. I should probably head back home so that I can make dinner”. She checked her watch. “Well, I guess now I will have to get home delivery” she said with a frown. Hyo enjoyed making meals, especially ones with high nutritional value. In a way, it helped prepare her body for all the alcohol Narsha would consume at night.

“I guess I will see you around!” Hyo said, getting up. “It was nice talking to you, even though it was not very long. I hope I bump into you again!” she lied, faking a smile.

Taeyeon nodded as Hyojin, Narsha's 'twin', has described her sister's physical appearance. She noticed that Hyojin's tone was slightly bitter and indeed, their way of communications were certainly different. Perhaps, Taeyeon thought, this isn't Narsha as Taeyeon claimed to be.

As Hyojin stood up, Taeyeon automatically stood up too, out of respect, and stared at her checking up her fancy watch. For some reason, she doesn't want her to leave. Something about Hyojin made Taeyeon felt attracted. Not in a sexually way, but in a way a best friend would provided. Taeyeon does hear Hyojin saying goodbye to her but she didn't move. All she did was to nod and smile at her.

"Yeah, I guess." Taeyeon nodded. "It was really nice to meet you, Hyojin-ssi. Tell Narsha I said hi! If she still remember me." As she silently watched the woman walks away, her stomach churned and butterflies were dancing inside. A feeling she hasn't felt for a long time. Taeyeon knew she is going to see her again. Perhaps soon, perhaps for a long time later. Either way, she will be meeting her once more. Then she left for her place, leaving the small but accidental memory at the bench, now cold and empty.

Chewing a little in the inner side of his cheek, his eyes hardened a bit when he read, indeed, straight past her lie. Though, he knows how stubborn and passive Taeyeon is when the conversation turns to her so he sighed uneasily, leaning back into his chair. “Your arms aren’t my concern, it’s your entire body and self in general, noona-yah. Please take care of yourself,” He couldn’t help for his voice to twinge a little with personal concern but sighed it off again when Taeyeon changed the subject.

Blinking softly, getting over the original dumbfounded feeling of hearing questions about his future, he shrugged. “I’m honestly going with the flow. I might pursue both the arts of photography and drawing, though I am a bit biased with photography.” He smiled, feeling a bit easier and more comfortable in talking about something that he understood most. Looking up when Taeyeon fell silent a bit, he admired her under the shade of the sun, her hair streaked into an almost rebel-like style, but the softness of her features contrast with that. Making her seem unpredictable and mysterious in little ways. “Singer? Of all things?” Smiling playfully, Baekhyun sat up and leaned his chin on his palm, winking. “You only heard me a few times, unless you’ve been hearing me in the shower. I’m joking, I’m joking! What about you, though? How are your studies? With your job, though.. doesn’t that clash with your studying time?” Feeling his smile falter a bit, his curiosity was sparked. How did his noona manage her time…?

Taeyeon struggled to keep her facade to remain as normal and causal as she could. She couldn't help but thinks of how Baekhyun is sharp, in his surrounding and even her owns. She thought all is well when she has successfully changed the topic to Baekhyun's future. The conversation was going on comfortably, happily listening to his speech of how he liked photography and his eyes, Taeyeon noted, has a fire behind it, burning softly with passion. She gently clapped her hands as she chuckled when Baekhyun told a joke.

"I'm doing my studies, don't worry. I haven't choose what I wanted to major in so I'm just roaming around, learning here and there and all that." Taeyeon smiled and stared at the white sheet, neatly spread on the top of the table. Nodding peculiarly to no one, she tilted her head just slightly with her eyes still glue to the snow-colored sheet. "I studies during daytime and I works at nighttime." She looked up to Baekhyun's eyes that clearly said I-want-to-know. "Sometime, they'll give me a night off so I used that free night to my education." She lifted her finger toward Baekhyun and slightly wagged it, her once calm face transformed into a childish smile and a hint of pink gums showing. "No matter how old you are, school is important! Education is everything, even though it's boring and makes you wanna hit your head at your desk." Taeyeon jokingly rolled her eyes.

A bell went off inside Taeyeon's mind and it was warning her to tell it to him before she forgets. Again. She looks at Baekhyun and nervously giggled. "Tell me again, when is your birthday?" Taeyeon rubbed her neck awkwardly with an apologizing smile. "I..uh..kinda forgot when is it. I wanted to celebrate it with you, if you'd like." Taeyeon looked at him straight at his eyes and waited for his reply.

My complains are like so typical but eh, here's my excuse for being so damn procrastinating lazyhorseass; SCHOOL. I swear to god, it's like getting all up in your face and go ghetto on you.

   So I'll probably be slower or perhaps not on online as much as I did before, but I promise I'll reply back as soon as school jail release me a free woman!

Hyo Jin quickly brought her head back up and looked at the woman she was seated next to. Hyo mentally kicked herself. Of course things would end up this way. Now Hyo had to come up with a lie, or tell her truth to somebody she did not even know that well. Her mind’s gears started to turn as she stared at Taeyeon’s face which was only a foot away from her. Suddenly, the light bulb went off. Hyo quickly smiled and did a small bow with her head.

“Ah, yes I am Hyo Jin” she said, sitting up straight. “It seems like you know my sister, Narsha! Are you her friend?” Hyo asked, blinking a few times. Her heart raced as she waited for Taeyeon’s reaction. 

Of course, twins. Hyo Jin and Narsha were two people who shared the same face, but not the same personality. That made them twins. Taeyeon did not have to know that these two people, in reality, shared the same body as well. This lie would keep Hyo Jin under some reassurance that her secret was safe.

The way she hesitated for a moment made Taeyeon suspicious and looked at her with a raised eyebrow but nevertheless, she still smiled. Something was up but she wasn't sure. She shouldn't assumed quickly. "Oh, so you're her sister? Wow, you sure looked exactly the same! I'm not sure about Narsha. We just met each other briefly and that was it."

Taeyeon extended out her hand with a small smile and nodded. "My name is Taeyeon. Nice to meet you, Hyojin-ssi."

During the shoot, people were not allowed to enter the cafe. That let Hyo Jin relax. The shoot flew by. Time always flew by when she did something she enjoyed so much. Once everything was over, Hyo Jin’s smile turned into a pout. She waved bye to her model, whom she would see in another few months. 

Hyo felt exhausted. She had gotten a little too productive earlier, and her body was starting to show the after effects. She decided a little fresh air at the park would not harm her. She pulled out her ipod and started to listen to some music. 

She drove her car over to the park and got out, looking for a place to sit. She checked her watch. It was 6 PM. This was the time where many people were at the park, taking their dogs out for a walk. Hyo looked around for a place to sit and relax. 

It seemed like all the benches were taken. After walking around for a bit, she finally noticed a spot next to a woman. She couldn’t see her face, and did not pay too much attention. She sat down and let out a long sigh.

Taeyeon's eyes were closed and her head were leaning against the edge of the bench. There was a thump beside her and she could feel the heat of someone else, sitting on the too-small-for-two-people bench. Then she heard a long sigh that she literally felt what the other stranger had felt; tiredness, stress, and a painful want for some peace. Curiosity has gotten to Taeyeon and she opened her eyes, only to find it widen. It's her.

Words wouldn't come out of her mouth and she kept blinking, thinking it might be an illusion or a trick of her mind, but it wasn't. The woman was there and Taeyeon is not dreaming. Even without her makeup, she was still as beautiful. She envied for that natural bare-face but she shook the green monster out of her system and timidly tapped the woman's shoulder. "N-Narsha?" She stammered. "Or is it Hyojin?"
