Rec: Silver in the Wood
Title: Silver in the Wood Author: emilyenrose Format: Novella Published/Free: free, on ao3 Length: 19291 words Status: Complete Rating: Everyone (maybe Teen ?) Warnings: None Link: http://archiveofourown.org/works/12161433 Summary: It was the middle of an autumn downpour when Tobias first met Henry Silver. Midsummer had come and gone, and the wood was quiet.
Review: Very good and well written story with mythological/english folklore elements in a sort of victorian setting (this last characteristic isn’t very pronounced). Poetic and slighly melancholic story that still ends on a positive/hopeful note.
I wish I could get a cat so I could get a little grey one and dress her up like this
Another day of taking flattering photos of my beautiful dog

Rec: Redwood Crossing
Title: Redwood Crossing Author: kaleidofish Format: Novel Published/Free: Free Length: 45,000+ words Status: WIP, weekly serial Rating: Teen Warnings: Drug and alcohol references Link: http://www.rwcrossing.com Summary: Redwood Crossing (RWC) is a fairytale-inspired fantasy series about two girls born to be enemies.
Ellie’s the heiress apparent to Stockbrunn, a town at odds with both itself and the nearby wolf tribe. She’s too busy dealing with her own affairs to notice how her town’s falling apart. Shreya’s caught up in her own world too, trying to escape and reject her identity as a monster she doesn’t want to be. She hides her wolf ears beneath a hat.
They meet by accident in a place neither one of them should be, at the border between human and wolf territory. If it weren’t for that hat, maybe they would hate each other, after all.
The story follows the development of their relationship over time, one made possible by a lie that becomes harder and harder to maintain.
Review: I look forward to this every week! You can vote on chapters. Voting makes reading more fun. Romance seems to be starting soon but there is more to the story than only that, which I like. The pace is picking up. Characters are relatable. I love this!
