“No no no, see, if a zombie bites you, you’re gonna become a zombie, end of story.” Hydro explained to Manny as they and Shade walked down the sidewalk, each carrying bags of presents bought at near-last minute. “A vampire can make you a vampire if they bite you, or they could just suck you dry and you die.”

“But how do you know if the vampire’s going to turn you or kill you?” Manny asked. “Does it feel different, or is it like flipping a coin?”

“I dunno, I’d assume the vampire has some say in it.” Hydro shrugged before looking back to Shade. “Shade, you wanna shed some light?”

“I am not an actual vampire, Hydro.” Shade grumbled. “And could ve please talk about something else? You know I do not like speaking of monsters...”

“Fine, fine...hm?” Hydro noticed a building in front of them with lights on through the windows. “Huh, looks like someone moved into the old DBN place.”

“Who?” Manny asked.

“DBNs. They were a line of bots from before you got built.” Hydro explained. “They were friends of the family, but they kinda vanished one day...Shade, did-”

“If you are going to ask if Vily took them, I do not believe so.” Shade cut the fishbot off. “Granted, I may have missed if one or two vere captured, but I do not recall hearing about the entire line being under Vily’s command.”

“Huh.” Hydro shrugged. “Well if they do ever show up again, guess it’ll be someplace else.”

“Maybe they just moved back in?” Manny suggested. “Are people allowed to do that?”

“Well sure, but there’s no-Manny where are you going?” Hydro and Shade watched as Manny put his bags down and walked to the building’s door, giving it a knock.

“Hello? Do the DBNs live here?” Manny called in through the door.
