“ Humans, despite their feeble period of existence, have never come close to rooting out the secrets of the vastness of space. Countless dimensions, deities, Gods and megalomaniacs thrive just out of the reach of mortal specie.

For every light, there is darkness, and for every soul, there is destruction. One can never be complete without the other. The concept of existence depends on the balance of 0s and 1s, forever encoded into the wires that make up the fabric of reality.

Yet, every eon or so, something breaks. A bug in the system. A fiber tears, nearly indiscernible among the endless harmony of things. The glass cracks — a glitch in the matrix. And as this crack travels along multiple pathways, winding along several universes without cease, the crack becomes a crevice, and a crevice becomes a hole. An absence of light, blackened and incapable of being.

I’ve put a lot of thought into making an AU ever since tBoB’s release and seeing countless amazingly talented artists share each of theirs and watching the stories grow.

Sooo, hopefully I’m not too late to the party?

The MATRIX AU follows the life of Bill Cipher —his birth, rise and fall, under the influence of another being. A corrupt, mass of data, amalgamated into a malevolent system seeking only to destroy.

After all, everything that gives must consume.
