@jungwoork
despite it already having been months since the supernova project, and despite having already debuted, there was something that still irked haknyeon, something that he was still unsatisfied with (he wondered if he’d ever be satisfied with himself). the memory of hyunbin telling him that he was a terrible singer was still fresh to him, and the words had impacted him in a way that both hurt and inspired him. hyunbin’s words were true and valid and it pushed haknyeon on to do better, to prove to both himself and the people around him that he could do it.
the thing with haknyeon though, was that he never really quite knew when to stop (in the mgas he’d gotten nosebleeds, during the supernova project, it continued); and he wasn’t planning to. he’d been practicing his singing for months now would focus on trying to sound decent. no. better than decent. that along with his rapping and dancing. he didn’t want to be the guy that brought the group down, didn’t want to be the boy that gave a bad name to per_se, not when they’ve all worked so hard.
so that’s exactly how he finds himself in the nova training room during their ‘break’, body leaning against the wall and bottle pushed against his stomach as he attempts to reach a note. he lifts his shirt and notices how bruised it looks but it’s not the time to care about that, the real problem here was that there was only so much strength he could put into pushing his own stomach.
it’s then when he spots jungwoo and immediately he rushes to the older boy. “hyung!” he says, grabbing onto jungwoo’s arm and literally dragging him into the practice room. “i need your help,” and if it’s jungwoo, haknyeon knows he can count on him. “i’m trying to vocalise better but i can’t seem to push my stomach hard enough. could you do it for me?” he lifts his shirt, revealing the red marks on his stomach. “i’ll lean against the wall so all you have to do is push me really hard!” he looks at jungwoo, determined.
