ㅤA part of what meant to work for Eggman and study him deeply was knowing his assets, both current and former, for that reason, Starline began to make a list of the former allies of Eggman, adding the basic information of them and including the reason of why they weren’t working for the Empire anymore.

ㅤOnce the important data was gathered, he decided to go with the first one, a hedgehog hybrid who was supposedly to be... The Ultimate Life Form? Huh, that sounded quite interesting, impossible, yet interesting, it quickly picked the platypu’s curiosity, making him even more eager to know the hedgehog in person.

ㅤUsing his Warp Topaz, he looked around until he finally managed to find the location of the living experiment, creating a brilliant crimson portal some meters in front of the mobian he wanted to know.

ㅤ❝Greetings, gentleman❞ Starline said as he appeared, walking with elegance towards the subject of his research. ❝My name is Dr. Starline and I’m looking for Shadow the Hedgehog, if you happen to be him, would you care in answering some some questions for me?❞ He asked with a bow.

ㅤOf course, he was aware that Shadow might deny his request, but hey, that was the fun part of this entertaining mission.

Shadow gives a groan. Not that old rumor. “We’re not an item. No matter how much Crystal likes to tease about it!”

“I don’t think it matters considering I’m not sexually active.” He was too busy for that and wasn’t interested in anybody.

Hey Crystal, are you and Shadow fully equipped in the downstairs department?

Crystal looks like he’s trying very hard not to burst into laughter but he’s not doing a good job. “Oh no. No no. I know I’m certainly… certainly not.” A snort. “I don’t think Shadow is either, even after the Reploid upgrades.”

Is that an other-universe term too?”“Er, yes.” It’s best to let the old man think so for now. “They’re robots with human free-will. They’re free to grow without Robot Master limitations.”“Fascinating! Wait, that means the brothers came from a different world? Well, well, now everything makes a ton more sense! Their patterns set his apart from many other similar works. This counterpart took a seat on the cushions. He greeted the other with a bow before serving the tea. The darkness didn’t bother him. “Pleased to meet you as well, sir.” He said, “If it helps, you may address me by an alias. Shio. It puns with ‘Salt’, though I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to disclose its true meaning just yet. It would sound too haughty.”
