smiling was a manner you had learned from your parents. if someone was looking at you, you'd smile and look away. in the end, a smile never hurts anyone.
so when a boy at the bus stop was looking at you, you smiled. fuma was enchanted to say the least. how could someone so beautiful just smile at him and then look away?
it was his first semester at a new university. he had changed universities midway and was now trying to find out at which time the bus leaves to his dorm area.
he had seen you around, and decided to take the same bus you were going to take.
fuma hesitated, was he going to ask you which stop he would have to get off, or would he just follow you like some creep?
he hated it when someone saw him as a threat, so he decided to just ask.
"uhm, excuse me. where do i need to get off if i want to go to the dorms?"
“you need to get of at this stop, just follow me.” that same smile appears on your face. fuma’s eyes never leave your face, enchanted by your looks.
“are you new here?” you ask, snapping him out of his thoughts.
“yeah, this is my first time taking the bus to go to the dorms.” he tells you.
“you should take the bus more often, it’s very close to the dorms.” you tell him. “oh, this is our stop, let’s go.”
fuma felt like a puppy following his owner. he sheepishly follows you as you talk about what you do at school and how the semester is going.
“you’re really nice to talk to! want to take the bus with me more often?” you suggest when the two of you arrive at the dorm apartments.
fuma nods happily and he has to contain himself from smiling too brightly when you pull out your phone.
he types his phone number and saves it under his name.
“fu-ma” you read from your phone. fuma looks at his phone and sees a text message from you.
you smile again and he smiles back. it’s like the two of you have known each other for years.
“well, i should get going. see you soon, fuma.”
he waves goodbye and watches you walk into the building, out of his sight. he exhales loudly, and holds his hand to his chest. how could a person impact him so much?
