Wandering around Renais Castle was not Knoll’s idea of fun. It was, actually, the exact opposite of fun. But he had to find Ephraim and he really didn’t want to bother anyone with his silly fumblings. He’d quite forgotten why he’d needed to find Ephraim in the first place now, though.

The mage tugged his hood a little further over his face and turned a corner. Just before he turned, he had to pull up short and nearly tumbled into Ephraim himself. “Ah! Prince Ephraim! I have been looking for you, I did not think I would find you.”

Frankly, Knoll didn’t know what on earth he was thinking. Clearly he wasn’t. He knew the Time Shear wouldn’t work a second time. Not with him attempting it alone. He lacked the power needed for it. But he wanted to try anyway.

Which ended in a blast that nearly knocked him out and left a rather large scorch mark in the floor. That was definitely not going to be washed up. The stones was now scorched for good. He was just picking himself up when Ephraim burst through the door. Clearly he’d heard the large bang from the spell failing.

“...I did not mean to do that.” Where the first words out of Knoll’s mouth. The mage hadn’t even known Ephraim was there, actually.

Knoll let out a quiet sigh as he leaned back against a tree. It was a quiet morning. A little cloudy but not about to rain and a cool breeze breaking up the summer warmth. It wasn’t often Knoll decided to work outside but when he did, he tried to do it on  days like this.

However, the warmth and the breeze and just the entire situation was lulling him to sleep. As a result, he wasn’t getting much work done. Instead, his book sat open in his lap, pages turning every so often with the breeze, and his pen had long since dropped to rest by his thigh.

He was just starting to really drift off when he saw Ephraim moving towards him. He had attempted to sit up a little straighter but was honestly too drowsy to do so. “Ephraim...” He said quietly, raising one hand just a little bit in an attempted wave.

Now THIS truly was a surprise. Especially since Ephriam had managed to catch him off guard enough to weave a few flowers into his hair by his ear. Obviously, Knoll had to stop reading outside where people were more likely to approach him. He simply turned and blinked at Ephraim questioningly, tilting his head to the side gently.

Knoll had just begun to drift off to sleep, sitting on the floor of a reading room with a book in his hand. His lack of sleep had caught up to him as usual. That is until he felt added weight on his lap.

The mage opened his eyes sleepily and glanced down at the one who had laid their head in his lap. “….Prince Ephraim?” He tilted his head slightly to the side, questioning, as he marked the page in his book and put it aside.

Without the mage noticing, Ephraim carefully snuck up behind him. He didn't like to do this, but what were his choices? Acting quickly, he reached out and snatched the first thing he thought of: the hooded cloak over Knoll's head. "Sorry. I need this. Because... I do." And with that, he bolted.

Knoll’s instant reaction was putting his hands up to grab the hood back to it’s original position. Unfortunately, his fingers barely skimmed the material as Ephraim took off with it. “….Prince Ephraim?” 

The mage blinked, looking back at where the prince was running. “What in the world??” He simply stood there for a moment, before moving to follow him. He wasn’t going to run, of course, his heavy cloaks prevented him from moving very fast. “Prince Ephraim, wait!” He called out, instead.
