Knoll pressed his lips together as he pressed bandage scraps against his wrist. The cut was only supposed to be deep enough to get a couple of drops of blood for the spell he had been working on, now the gloves he generally wore and his fingers were soaked in blood. It was beginning to slow but the mage still felt terribly weak. What had gone wrong?
The mage thought back to the moments before he was curled up on himself on the ground. He had been working on a spell, some old archaic spell he found in a book that required a bit of blood to work. Just a couple of drops would have been fine. But as Knoll was making the cut, banging on his door startled him and he sliced his wrist open.
More banging on his door brought Knoll back to the present. "Come in..." He called weakly, hoping he had spoken loud enough that whoever was there could hear him. He looked up as the door creaked open and saw Shinon standing there. "Ah...we had plans..." He muttered, remembering the hastily made plans to wander through town the last time they had met. Obviously, the mage had been late showing up and now he was bleeding on the floor. Of the list of people he didn't want to see the small scars that riddled his arms, Shinon was near the top (Lyon being the first.) Now he could do nothing to hide them since he needed Shinon's help.
