So I definitely need to read Forest of Shadows now because the Hans dream sequence alone has sold me
pardon the messy sketch. Maybe I’ll do a nicer picture later lmao
Hey moga! I wanted your thoughts - do you think Anna and rapunzel have the same personality?
1: Awwwh. That’s kind of sweet someone wants to know what I think!
2: I’d say they’re definitely similar? They’ve both got the lonely, but still optimistic and outgoing thing going on. They’re friendly, they’re bright, and I’ve seen a lto of people associate them both with summer and the sun. (For some reasons more obvious than others). They’re both a little awkward, but in different ways.
There’s definitely some differences though, particularly in terms of where they are in life. Warning for some Frozen 2 spoilers
Anna wants things to stay stable, she wants pillars of familiarity in the face of change, big or small. She wants her family around, she wants to stay in Arendelle, she just wants to be content with where she is with the people she loves. It’s pretty evident in Frozen 2 that Anna has what she wants, which is to have people she cares about and vice-versa. She wants to be loved and feel like she’s loved! And she is!
Even at the end of the movie, she’s got the love and stability she wants. She’s queen now, sure, but she’s still got Olaf, Kristoff, Sven. Elsa comes to visit and visits often.
Even in the first movie, Anna doesn’t want to go explore, or go on grand adventures, she just wants company. Her life was pretty boring and stable beforehand, yes, but she was lonely, and her loneliness amplified after Agnarr and Iduna died.
Rapunzel? Rapunzel wants everything. She wants to see everything, experience everything, learn everything, know everyone. Rapunzel spent her life locked up and lonely, yes, but she couldn’t even go out into her own yard. While Rapunzel wants some stability (Corona still being there, her parents staying together, her friends staying her friends) she welcomes change and encourages it.
Corona changes because of her and her influence, just like quite a few of the people she meets. The series has done a wonderful job of Rapunzel changing the world around her, and then changing with it.
Anna and Rapunzel are very similar in terms of their optimism and outgoing personalities, but their wants and desires, and thus their actions are different. Anna isn’t knowledge and adventure hungry, but Rapunzel is, and I definitely think that’s their biggest difference.
Anna
send me a character and i’ll list:
favorite thing about them: She’s very plucky and determined and honestly hilarious
least favorite thing about them: I love her, but she is a little insecure, in a lot of ways-- Which is fine, but I do wish she’d gotten some growth with it.
favorite line: “I’m awkward, you’re gorgeous-- Wait, what?”
brOTP: Elsa!
OTP: Hans, Jack Frost
nOTP: els/an/na again
random headcanon: She’s always wants a pet, but never got one.
unpopular opinion: Anna deserves waaaay more recognition than she gets. She doesn’t need powers. Also I miss her lil white stripe
song i associate with them: Love is an open DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR
favorite picture of them: Any pictures of her in her brown dress from the beginning of Frozen 2
God I love Anna tbh
I already really liked her but the sequel made me like her a lot more (Made me like the other characters a lot more too lmao)
two hopes for frozen 2 that i wont get too hop-y for
1) Hans. just hans. where is he
2) the nokk’s horse form is just that and disney actually leans hard into the actual nordic folklore and we get a violin player out of them too
Me:
Hic: Hey look there’s a Nokk in Frozen 2 probably
Me, immediately:
