i've been thinking of listening to the httyd books as audiobooks (I've run out of episodes on the current podcast I listen to as I get ready for bed) but I'm so so scared of not being able to unhear the voice that david tennant does for toothless. it's truly horrendous

I think another reason why I'm not as offended as I should be by the live-action remake is the fact that we've already had so much HTTYD spin-off media.

We have shorts and tv shows (both of varying quality), a theme park area, videogames, comics... It truly just feels like yet another tie-in thing.

What I really missed in the live-action remake was hints to HTTYD3's plot... I don't remember whose post it was, but I saw someone talking about how remaking the trilogy just meant giving the live-action fans an equally disappointing experience with the end of The Hidden World, and I'm inclined to agree.

With all the setup for HTTYD2, I was really hoping they would start the HTTYD3 plotline early (especially with this being a world where dragon-hunting people all come together in one central place)... but nope.
