⅏ from neji!

The last few weeks have left her with a lot to think about.
It’s disappointing, not making it to chūnin on her first try. But in the back of her mind, Hinata admittedly let her doubts fester. Quite a few rookies were giving the test a try this time around, and she knew that she was by far the underdog of them all. But she had to try. Had to lend her teammates what little strength she had to try and make it through.
But her own run ended in disaster.
Being bed-bound for so long left her restless, even if her new avenue of training was interesting in its own right. But renewed thoughts about herself, her clan, her cousin, and how they all fit together have been plaguing her since the fight that landed her in here in the first place.
And though one would think it would resolve after the third exam (and the subsequent conflict after), Hinata still can’t shake her thoughts.
She wants to do something. But what? She’s weak, she’s longer heiress (and frankly doesn’t want to be). What can she do concerning generations of tradition that have caused such a rift in her clan?
Sat under a tree one afternoon, she curls her knees to her chest, expression downcast as she yet again thinks herself in circles over the matter. So drowned in them is she, Hinata only notices Neji’s approach once he’s standing just beyond her feet.
“…o-oh!” Startling, she looks up with widened eyes. “N…Neji-nīsan! Sorry, I…I was, um…thinking.” She manages a brief flutter of a smile. “Were you…were you looking for me?”
Rather than answer, he holds out a hand, which she accepts and lets him tug her to her feet. Then he suggests they take a bit of a walk.
A walk…?
Blinking, there’s a pause before she manages a small, somber smile. “Maybe that’s…a good idea.” Perhaps it will help her mind linger elsewhere, even if just for a little while.
