9: Abacination
Delusions were all that there was for him anymore, him on the verge of snapping, however never truly revealing he started splicing, although obvious. Locking the door of the room, he let out a twisted chuckle. Now they were alone. Together. For the first time in a few good days.
There were only a handful of things in this room; a chair, two men, a long steel stick and a ruined bed. The floor was covered in cement dust, it having descended from the ruins intended to be a wall seperating the bedroom and rest of the chamber. There was also a tiny decorative fireplace amidst all of the empty walls, turning the mood somewhat eerie.
Taking a match and lighting it, he places it on top of some scrap wood he had managed to find. Making sure it was burning well enough to his tastes, he turned to the boy in the chair-- whom he'd smuggled down here, of which nobody knew but them. "Say darlin', when's th'last time y've done anythin' in me name? Not anyone else's, no, mine." His voice was stern, heart beating fast, shaking ever so slightly as his blue eyes gazed down upon the other in dismay.
"Oops. Sorry. Forget y'can't tell me." Even if the reason for that was the fact he had stuffed the boy's mouth, he suspected him of not being able to answer. Hands reaching for the steel stick he'd put to rest against a wall, and dragged it to himself. "See this love? This is merely a stick. A pole. Old, rusty, useless to some. It's a simple thing, one with which y'can barely do harm. .. Unless y'think 'bout ways t'use it diff'rently."
He held it between his two big hands, fingers carefully wrapped around its cylinder form, eventually letting go of one side to insert it into the flames that had been burning warm for a while now. He knew that this would trigger guilt within him; he loved Delsin. He loved him, but he couldn't forgive anyone for their betrayal. Nor for their consideration of Ryan's 'love'. It hurt to think he'd done something like that. However, he only had himself to trust for what was real and what wasn't.
The ADAM prying at his brain didn't precisely help that.
"I really hesitated t'do this, darlin'-- in fact, it hurts me deeply that I have t', but after this.. y'll truly need me 'n' I can be sure y'won't run away."
He could feel the warmth of the fire creep into the metal, slowly heating up the space his hands occupied, assuring him it was hot enough. Taking it carefully out of the fire, he grinned, tears staining his eyes. And not merely caused by the heat of the stick in his hands. No, the thought of being betrayed by him-- was too horrifying too him. He was scared. Scared of losing him.
Grip tightened around its texture. "I'm sorry, but I have no choice."
Without a second thought, he lifted it to meet Delsin's eyeheight-- finally pressing it onto his eyes, ignoring every part of it that hurt, instead imaging him as some splicer. But he couldn't do it. Loud sobs echoed through the room, him tossing away the pipe the second he considered the job done.
Wiping away his own tears, he bent down to press a kiss onto the other's cheek.
"Now I can be sure y're mine."
