The walk to David’s current location is rushed and offers no quiet. The banging of metal against steel walkways is seemingly never ending as he stomps forward, eyes narrowed and fists clenched at his sides. ‘What the fuck has gotten into him,’ the AI’s thoughts are sharp and angry, made of accusing tones and hints of genuine hurt. What had he done wrong to David today? He’d given him a break from testing. He’d kept snarky comments to himself. This isn’t fair. Is there never moment where he isn’t being antagonized?
The noise he makes when he finally reaches the other’s chamber is less frightening than it is needy, a snarl that weakens into a high pitched whine. Whoops. Hoping the human hadn’t heard, Hal places a hand on his hip, eyes narrowed into faintly glowing slits.
