'It'd have to be doing a good job. Not a lot of room for error, given it's in pieces', he offers back, considering the question over a cigar. 'We might never know. If it has any to begin with. But that seems like a question to be asked once we're both far more drunk'.
He didn’t know how long he wound up staying at that small, 24-hour bar, but Shadow indulged more than a ‘little bit’ after he finished his jog. He figured, why not, he deserves to treat himself right? Right.
The barkeep didn’t seem to mind, but the moment the darker hedgehog walked into his establishment, he didn’t exactly have a keen eye for him. Money’s money though, and he didn’t care whether or not this punk drank himself stupid or even better- dead. It wasn’t just him thinking this either, anyone who payed half a second of attention to the news knew of this guy. Worked for Eggman, tried to destroy everyone, tried to destroy their Heroes. And now, after that was all said and done, he’s.. back again? Pronouncing around with Sonic like they’re teammates. No one could believe it, and plenty of people were mad. The barkeep himself figured this was some sorta brainwashing scheme, but. Well, its not like any common folk could do anything about it except watch on in horror or hatred, namely both. If he could, he’d poison the damned hedgehog.
But, he does the next best thing, and just kicks him out once he’s fed up looking at his face.
Shadow, thankfully, doesn’t put up much of a fuss. He’s too fuzzy in the head to anyways. So he stumbles out, unsteady on his feet, but still able to keep from falling right over. Or well, that’s the hope at least. He yawns, rubbing his eyes tiredly... what time was it? Mm.. he should go back home and just pass out, that’d be good right about now.
He puts his hands behind his head and walks unevenly, with an uncharacteristically goofy grin on his flushed face. Ooh, he better not let himself indulge too often, lest he gain an addiction.. or, well, would it even be a big deal? He’s just having a good time, its not like no one’s getting hurt.. besides, isn’t he like, immortal? Or.. whatever Sonic said to him, he cant really remem-
THUD-!
“Hrghk!...Ghuh..” Shadow squeezes his eyes shut for a moment before opening them back up bleary. Everything’s.. sideways, wait what just-
He feels his quills being pulled from behind him, forcing his head up from the ground, just barely able to make out someone squatting in front of them.
“Youse really though we were all gunna jus’ letcha run round town? Like ye owned the place? Listen, we ain’t know what yer plannin, but we Dont like it.”
“Heheheh! Yeah! C’mon, c’mon, can I already?”
Shadow doesn’t hear any verbal response, but the next thing he knows- his head is being slammed repeatedly into the concrete. Hahhh, well, immortal or not, that was painful. He tries to scramble up, but someone much larger than him is easily keeping him pinned to the ground. His finger tips claw at the ground frantically, wearing down his barely visible claws.
It hurt, it HURT-
STOP-
“Oi! Can- can, hahahh. Hows about we take a little, souvenir? Right? I mean, we’re gonna be heroes! Right?!”
“Shut it, I heard ya the first time! If youse wanna, go ahead, I ain’t gonna stop ya. Carve ‘im up good!”
The talking stops and is replaced by laughter, and for a moment Shadow gets a brief moment of peace from his face being repeatedly slammed into the ground. Hfff, hff... He tastes blood in his mouth, one of his eyes stings too bad to open, and his world is spinning so badly he can’t see straight anymore. Was- is it over? He moves his arms under him to try and push himself up, but he’s roughly shoved back down, and-
“Hhe.. hey, what... what’re....”
“SHUT IT!”
Shadow winces as he’s yelled straight into his ear, his ear which is. Being very firmly held by the brute above him.
“Hehehehhh, ohh, yer gonna feel this. I hope that stupid face of yers finally lets out a good scream.”
He tries to process what exactly is happening, and then it happens. Sharpness cuts partway through his ear, attempting to sever it from his head. For a split second he can hardly even react, that is, till a scream is ripped from his throat.
Panic and Fear cuts through him like the knife against his ear and out of instinct the chaos energy within him wells up, fueled by fear and pain.
A blast of energy spreads outwards from him, slamming his captors into nearby walls, rendering them swiftly unconscious. The threat is neutralized, but his panic isn't, and neither is the build up of chaos energy in his body. He scrambles up onto all fours and before even he knows what he’s doing, he takes off running, only to disappear entirely a few meters away.
Isabella slapped the Sole survivor's ass, before leaning on her shoulder a bit with a bottle. Lifting it up with a smile "dam fine party~"
Sinday Meme ;; Selectively Accepting
Violet snaps her head towards Isabella with a half-hearted glare, “Careful, that will cost you extra.”
Any other time she may have just decked whoever slapped her ass, but she knew this person–at least a bit–and the alcohol in her system made her less hostile. Besides, her recent victory of capturing the Castle for the Minutemen had her in a good mood.
It was also why they were celebrating.
“But yeah, good party. We earned it, all the trouble we went to to get this damn place.”
More so about emotional aspects regarding it than physical stuff like being a light-weight or anything.
So, I made a post a while ago about the whole team’s preferences for what kind of alcohol and all that. Which it’s pretty misinformed considering I haven’t had that much variety.
Anyways, Sam doesn’t like drinking any more than two drinks. It has to do with her whole vulnerability complex, how she doesn’t want to be at a disadvantage or incapacitated, all that. She wants to be able to handle stuff if a bad situation arises. She does actually like alcohol’s taste/feelings.
She is also 19, so it is illegal in America, but drinking is pretty rampant in the Hunter community along with drug abuse. Plus underage drinking is nothing out of the ordinary.
Sam essentially stops drinking it at all though when she’s travelling alone because she really has no back-up besides her small dog, Bruce, if something goes wrong. Which Bruce really is an emotional-support dog for Sam (Suddenly realizes that I haven’t considered if Sam would register Bruce so she could take Bruce with her everywhere) Another time....
Okay, well basically at one point Sam can’t afford to care for Brucie anymore so she gives him to an animal shelter. In the few days afterwards is one of the few times she’s gotten legitimately drunk. Which it just started with her taking a drink bc she does like how alcohol burns and it is distracting from her troubles. Which it just keeps going until she’s drunk and she does black-out.
Next morning she thinks about how stupid she was to do that and for a couple days she’s making sure she doesn’t drink or anything. Which instead of drinking she ends up calling Arthur in a fit because she misses Bruce, but she really can’t afford to take care of him properly and on she goes.
(Quick info: Arthur is Sam’s old mentor. They were pretty close and he was essentially her Uncle. Up until a year ago they were hunting together, but then he got hit in the head and since then he’s been slowly recovering from that, which put a pretty deep crack in their relationship and this isn’t the post for that. Check Arthur’s tag and I’m sure there’ll be a post breaking down what happens. At default though he is at his own house, working at his business in town.)
Anyways, so Arthur is like “You got rid of your dog? Look, go and get the dog back then bring him here. I’ll take care of him and you can visit or take him back whenever you want.“ Which Sam does do all of that.
Afterwards, she’s not sad about Brucie as much anymore, but I mean she does have a bottle of vodka in her car. She doesn’t drink a lot or often, but if she has a bad week she’ll take a couple shots and put it away again.
Which that is all because she can’t snuggle or play with Bruce unless she drives out of her way (however many hours).
Once she reunites with the team they get Brucie back and well everyone takes care of Brucie. I don’t remember if I made a post about how some of them spoil him or not, I’ll check.
I'm sitting in a lobby with my iPod waiting to leave so this will be small. Not about what they're like drunk, just their preferences.
Now some of my characters are underaged at default universe, but they still have tried stuff because of Ann and Balder who can buy alcohol. Also none of them drink often, and a party with drinks is very rare for them.
Although Sam does not drink often of much, once again she doesn't like letting her senses go, she seems to like really hard drinks. She likes vodka .... And I don't know any other hard drinks. She likes dark beer too, and prefers German over American. However she doesn't like fruity drinks because they're usually sweet and she just doesn't care for sweet stuff.
Danny is pretty simple. He drinks beer, but he will try anything. He's open minded, but "Here, try this." happens and he can end up getting a lot of shots.
Ann has a high alcohol tolerance. She could drink a lot of people under the table. When she's doing a drinking game she'll mix something with something fruity. Like rum and strawberry. She DOES likes fruity drinks since they taste good. Since she's been mixing her own drinks for a while the times the team does party she makes them for everyone.
Balder really likes sparkling drinks. He hates beer because of the taste, but he will drink it if that's the only thing they have.
May mostly drinks different types of beer. She likes when Ann mixes drinks, but she doesn't grab anything besides beer unless she has a shopping list. She does like liquor, but she mostly sticks with her beers and the experiments Ann gives her.
It is hard to tell what Vincent likes. He rarely requests anything specific. "What do you want- i don't know- do you want a (blank) - yeah." The only things he gets on his own is a Long Island iced tea.
I'm working on an aboutsam regarding before everything happened, and that was suppose to be the next one, but I needed a break from that because I made myself sad.
Anyways, Sam doesn't like drinking a lot of alcohol. She just doesn't like anything that makes her mess up or vulnerable. Plus she doesn't like paying for a drink when she can instead buy food. Now if somebody gets her a drink, she'll accept and talk with them, but only one drink. And she actually only has one drink, not even all of it if it's too strong. Even celebrations she never likes to drink more than one because she just thinks 'what if something happens' as in what if somebody is in danger or anything.
Alex on the other hand is of course still 19 and technically that's illegal, so she actually drinks even less than Sam. The only time she drinks are with the group, Anne and Balder are legal(the only ones in the group too) so when they decide it's time for a party, there's a 50% chance they buy beer and Sam will drink a couple (alternating with water- Modern!Sam knows about this, but past Sam doesn't so she doesn't drink water to counteract alcohol).
