it hadn’t taken him nearly as long as he had thought to track down his fiancé. of course, the kid wasn’t really hiding, either. he just hadn’t gone out of his way to find ronan. but ronan wasn’t interested in his supposed fiancé coming out of the woodworks three years down the line, claiming he hadn’t done his job as a husband, or worse, claiming half of his wealth. besides, those with their names attached to his deserved to know what they were getting into, and he didn’t fancy the idea of having something so unknown. ronan had done his research, at least, as much as was available on anton. probably mortal, which meant this meeting was all the more urgent. seven hundred years is a long time to accumulate enemies. he found himself outside of the kid’s door, rapping his knuckles on the wood three times.
