Was it right for Caleb to stalk Hestia with Sylus? No, it wasn't right, but he thought it was what anyone would do in his situation. He had someone from the Fleet take pictures while following Sylus all the way to the N109 Zone. Every major stop was one the Hunters Association marked as places Sylus Corvo, the infamous leader of Onychinus, would make deals or work in.

"Did you know this 'fruit seller' boyfriend of yours is Sylus Corvo of Onychinus? That he was lying to you and is the most dangerous man on the damn planet?" Caleb tossed the documents open on the coffee table of her home when he visited.

"That's because we're cut from the same cloth," she says with a knowing grin. They both knew it to be untrue but she felt like saying it for the sheer amusement. Caleb was far darker than she -- and it broke Esmee's heart to know there could never be any solace for someone like him.

Briefly, she looks at the distance closing between them and she wants to reach for his hand, to pull him in so that there could be nothing left but the two of them together in a world of their own making. Would he allow it? She chose not to test it.

Esmee crosses her arms over her chest and stands guarded, smirking to further toy with the hope of getting a reaction. "Or I can pretend we are. Understanding what goes on in that head of yours will take a lot of imagination."
