He gave her a thoughtful glance before tapping his chin as he looked down at her, “Speaking of which, a little bird told me that you were planning on dismissing our marriage. Now you wouldn’t be foolish enough to do something like that, now would you?”

The Recusant’s Trial

He had never been on this path before... Fog reached out in smoky tendrils towards him, as if it was luring him deeper into the town. This world appeared for all intents and purposes completely uninhabited, but there seemed to be a presence here-- one that lingered and festered in the darkness. A concept that Saïx could understand. All the same, it did nothing to alleviate his ill feelings of this place. So far as he was concerned, the sooner he could leave, the better. 

Suddenly, a flash of movement caught the corner of his eye. Turning around, he saw a strange figure wearing one of the Organization’s robes standing near a building, a hood concealing its features. 

“You!” he called out, narrowing golden eyes. “What is your business here?”

With clammy, trembling hands, he approaches his mother looking as though he’s seen a ghost. The crowd stands in the throne room below, awaiting for his coronation to begin, and he has never felt so nervous in his life. Though he has been groomed to perfection, he still feels that he looks rather ghastly from his nerves. In secret, he thinks he looks rather ghastly all the time, but that is never something he divulges to others. For now, he simply hopes that she understands how he is feeling at the moment. “Mother...”

It was with no doubt that Tommen loves his sister. He loves her more than anything, really. She was a constant fixture in his early life, always a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold, a person to play with. She is as kind as she is fierce, and when she left for Dorne, a place in his heart became empty in her absence. He wept at her departure like a sensitive little boy does, and at her return, he is desperately trying to keep himself from bursting from emotion. It would not do to show tears in front of these people who watch from afar.

When she approaches, he is unsure of what to do; hug her, or stand back? He settles for a smile, a genuine one, and holds a hand out to her. “Sister. It’s so good to see you again.”

“Mother...” He only enters her chambers when he is sure that she will allow it. He learned long ago that there are times when he is not always welcome in the chambers of others, and he was raised to show respect when it was needed. Even now, despite the fact that he is the king, he dares not enter anywhere he wishes. “May I come in?”

He does not know what has given him such an idea. In the time that Lady Sansa has been living in the Red Keep, he has not spoken to her as often as others. In truth, he has either been too shy or simply unsure of what he would say. But he is good at watching, and when he watches her, he cannot ever forget how sad she always looks underneath the fake smiles. He couldn’t imagine what it is like to be forced to marry a stranger, especially someone as intimating as Uncle Tyrion. So without thinking, he plucks a rose from the gardens and goes off in search of her.  And really, he doesn’t even know if this will make her smile, or if she even likes roses, but...it never pains to try, does it?

“Lady Brienne.” He finds that the name slips from his mouth on its own accord, with a tone that of pleasant surprise more than anything. He had not formally met Brienne of Tarth beforehand, had only seen her at Joffrey’s wedding from afar; he finds, however, that he remembers tall people far better than others. “Welcome. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
